Anyone have a link to this interview?

Kind of tough to pick one, 'Rush cover' doesn't really put one theme to my mind.

on my original post I meant to say cover album sorry about that

Needs to be something with keyboards so Moving Pictures makes sense (though a bit on the nose). I'm probably alone, but I'd love to hear Presto with really heavy guitar parts, or even Counterparts with more keyboard.

La Villa Strangiato! I would love to hear them do that one.

They've already played (most of) LVS, along with a couple of other songs around it as a medley.

o rly? I'll have to check those out. Cygnus X-1 (both parts) then.

Dream Team

Unfortunately all of the classic albums would be too tough for James to sing. I'd pick Moving Pictures I guess because he could probably get through most of it without killing himself.

DT has covere alot of Rush live. A quick search on youtube and you can see/hear some of them.

If DT were to cover a Rush album, then I think it should be Farewell to Kings.  Granted it's not a very well known Rush album, but DT doing Xanadu would be pretty cool.

I was personally hoping that the obsession with doing covers was all MP and that we'd seen the last of it.

YYZ, just to piss off people who  did it before :P :P

You mean themselves? (On the Majesty Demos)

Also, MP himself did it with his Rush Tribute Band, Cygnus & The Sea Monsters.

-Marc.

really they already did it... arghh?

i did mean mp's version...which is killer....i love that performance/kit everytyhing about it...
and the fact that PG plays along.

Musically, I'd say Caress of Steel would be the best.  Their live version of Necromancer is killer, and I think they could do an excellent job on Fountain of Lamneth--James' vocals on No One at the Bridge would be beyond amazing.  However, most the material on that one is probably too obscure for all but the Rush diehards.

Obviously, Moving Pictures would be the album to do if you want the great live reaction, but I don't see that happening, as Rush already did the album on their recent tour.

Thus, something in the middle would be a good compromise:  perhaps Permanent Waves (of which we've seen some DT covers--including Different Strings and Jacob's Ladder), or Hemispheres.

King Postwhore

Ok, my choice would be Power Windows but I think that DT's heart would be right at Hemispheres.

Nick, I think they could do Hemispheres just like they did The Number Of The Beast.  Jordan made it work.

Holy crap, never knew about the Different Strings cover. One of my favorite Rush tunes.

A Farewell to Kings or Permanent Waves would be covers I'd pay to see DT play.
