Honestly, the only reason I made that was to make it look like I thought Torn2Shreds was complimenting it. Life well spent.

In fairness, Steve has worked for Dream Theater.

I would say that Hugh Syme is, to his credit, a little more consistent than Steve, but given that Hugh's been doing it for decades, it's hard not to be floored by how often Steve aces it - and sometimes exceeds Syme's stuff. It's amazing that there's even a comparison, let alone how well they hold up against each other. Stellar stuff.

Well thank you, those are kind words.
Here is my latest creation. I was inspired by the picture below. I had to make the guy's body more feminine using ''Puppet Warp'' (awesome tool in photoshop CS5). Sky, rocks, lightning, wings, sea and woman's head are all separate images. The rain and splashes I made myself with some psd tricks. And a dozen of other things which I will not tell.  ;)

For the simple reason that I dislike the 'silly' look of the normal artwork I put this together as an alternative to embed for my iPod. Sure, it may look a little more 'bleak' but that's what I like about it. Sorry for the thread resurrection.

It looks nicer than the actual cover, but it'd be too dark to fit the album.

Well, it would have been one of the best (if not the best) looking DT artwork, still. And we would have enjoyed the speculation on the similarities with the FII cover.  :)
