Incidentally - and I toyed with the idea of posting this as a thread back when the album title was first revealed - I came up with a fun game the whole family can play.

Dead easy - all you have to do is flick through Hugh Syme's portfolio and slap a logo and a title onto one of the pictures.

Extra points for scarring the top or the bottom with a gigantic black bar, a la Octavarium and Systematic Chaos.

I Got bored and made this. It's more of a poster-ish sort of thing than anything else, but I didn't really know where else to put it. I suppose for this particular thread it could be used as booklet artwork.

I know it's nowhere near as good as the others but I thought I'd try something more abstract with this one and put it on here anyway.



I did have the album title in there, but I think it looks better without it. I had the idea to put the DT logo in the field as sort of crop circle thing, but that is beyond me.

I like it a lot. Too much apocalypse for my taste here. Not to say the others are bad, most kick some serious ass. I'm glad for something more mellow though.

Different direction from these really busy ones.  I really didn't want to use the majesty logo but I know people would be like "but the majesty logo!" so I added the 5 stars, representative of the members of the band.... lame I know.

Thanks. I doubt few people saw anything that has happened to dream theater over the past months. That was actually part of the reason for doing something totally different. All in the spirit of the latest happenings.

Also I used the earth turning around as a metaphor for JP's description of the lyrical content.

They don't need to do anything, but I do absolutely love that cover! Can't see DT doing something quite that simple though.
