Some of this posts are probably better than the one DT will put up. I think "A Dramatic Turn of Events" will have a more positive album art though.

RudessSolo

Yes, I think that it will be white or at least lighter than the last album covers...

How about this one? Dream Theater meets I Am Legend.

Great work as usual Zydar. I'd only put the name of the band and album title on the usual place (up) because there's too much sky. Half picture is empty.

Nevertheless, beautiful image and concept.

JediKnight1969

Here's another idea for the new album cover!

Imo, the large shot of the sky is what makes the image look so appealing. I say keep the logo on the bottom.

Agree to disagree.

Needs more Mangini. But yes, it has, by Chris (sonatafanica).

I love how the first man in the row seems to be pulling JR's goatee  :rollin

I support the thought of having the lettering of the band name in a different place than the usual "upper half, center". It worked great for SDOIT and Octavarium, why shouldn't it be done a bit different again, like on Zydar's picture?

Chris's was not good though because Opeth was on it.

The only thing wrong with this one is the "Underground" sign. Take that out and it's perfect.

Ack! Gonna disagree, but then again I have a bit of an obsession with the London Underground aesthetic. It feels ancient and brand new at the same time, which I really like. And which really applies to the album. Plus the logo gives an extra focal point, not to mention that it adds a sense of scale - this isn't some outdated ruin, this is a capital city. Big Ben alone, I'd argue, is too subtle a signifier.

Really dig the art.

Haha - I kinda figured he hadn't just cheekily thrown together a watercolour overnight, but cheers for the link to the full thing. Mesmerising bit of work.

Hi everyone ! I'm new here. This is my fanmade artwork.

I don't post much but had to say that some of these covers are really good.  I am digging this thread.  This one gets my vote.  I could easily see this as the real thing.  Better make sure your phone isn't off the hook!

Adami

He would need to make the boy quite a bit smaller.
