I always get them anyway but this one doesn't seem to exist.

Happy 21st anniversary to Train of Thought! In celebration of one of my favorite DT albums, I transcribed the entire thing and will be uploading tab videos for each song over the next couple weeks. I've gotten many requests to transcribe this album in the past several years, but because I do not have access to the isolated guitar tracks, I've always said no. Since the original tab book is truly terrible (I bought a copy in my teens before I knew any better), I made an exception and put in countless hours of research and have edited my transcriptions more times than I can remember. I'm finally ready to share this work with fellow fans, and I hope you enjoy it. The tab for As I Am premieres in a couple of hours.

Long before I started transcribing professionally, I tried to learn the first solo in this song from the official tab book. I eventually gave  up, and I think teenage me concluded that it was simply too challenging, not realizing that the book was just plain wrong. I'm so glad to have fixed all of that with my new transcriptions, and hopefully they will help others avoid the same scenario. Yes, the songs are still very challenging, but not frustratingly illogical.

You might think that since there's no guitar solo in this song, the official tab book should be pretty close to accurate. Nope. Instead, they screwed up just about everything else, including where the downbeat is.

Over the last few years, I've probably gotten more requests to transcribe this song than all other requests combined. I'm happy to finally make it a reality!

This is the final tab video in my Train of Thought transcription project, though In the Name of God was actually the song that got the ball rolling. What started as an attempt to learn the unison in the middle of the song, and thus rediscovering how terrible the official tab book is, soon morphed into transcribing and correcting the entire album. I hope fellow fans will enjoy (re)learning the songs as much as I did.
