This thread is going to be archived for the rest of time as the forum's official stance on Regression vs ACOS.

Meanwhile: I'm the only one who voted for Regression against TCOT on DT League 2014 newest poll :rollin

Well, it's 1 vote against 16 anyway  :loser:

All kidding aside, I had to double check what I saw. :lol

After all, even ACOS doesn't compare to Regression.

To the casual DT listener, this thread might at first seem frivolous and lighthearted.  But to the true DT fan, this poll is probably THE question that needs to be answered in order to be able to fully appreciate the depth and entirety of all that is DT.

ACOS, is without question a masterpiece, maybe the greatest 20 minutes of music ever made.  But let's take a closer look at Regression.  In order to fully appreciate Regression, you must completely  immerse yourself in the song.  You must actually allow yourself to be hypnotized and taken back in time.  Once there you will relive the entire episode of the story accompanied by the soundtrack of the greatest album ever created.  Unless you allow Regression to pull you into this world, you are not going to get it.   And once in the state of regression you will find other doors, Metropolis part 1 for instance, leading to Images and Words......the entrances to an entirely deeper level of understanding and enjoyment of DT lie within this state.

So you see, in actuality Regression may be the key to truly understanding the greatness of DT, in not just an audible realm, but in what just may be the true reality we are all called to.  Fleeting thoughts of DT songs, questions on lyrics, Voices in our heads, all these things are subconscious urgings to enter this state of enlightened consciousness.

I have it on good authority that JM once entered this state....and has never returned....that should explain a LOT.

I believe Hef knew all this but did not want to make it obvious....so he dropped a few crumbs by creating this thread to see if we would follow....

Regression has the best drum work of the entire DT catalog, so it wasn't a tough choice for me.

Love both, but Seasons reminds me more of when I first got into DT and those incredible early show when they played this all the time. GD I miss it.
