Young Sammy Hagar
Montrose young Sammy or VH young Sammy

Either one really. In Van Halen he used to nail high A5's and shit all the time. More importantly, he can sing any style, and any emotion. He definitely has the range, the only problem is his lyrics are usually awful and he has trouble/dislikes singing anyone elses lyrics. Although a few of his lyrics were pretty fantastic.

Wow, no Chris Collins or Charlie Dominici answers? Unless I missed them.

Jem Godfrey (hey, if anything else, double keys would be AWESOME in DT)
Russell Allen
Ray Alder
Neal Morse (lol)
\o\ lol /o/

TAC

Why even do this?

I agree..but since we are..there's only one..Michael Kiske!

Actually Michel Luppe from Vision Divine would be fine too.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

I was thinking about this topic, and then I was imagining how Russell Allen would sing some of DT's stuff, especially something like The Glass Prison, and...damn. He would nail shit like that, especially the I can't escape it... and Fatal descent... parts at the beginning would be amazing.

His audition would be held in a car.

if petrucci quit or was unable to continue, that would be the end of the DT.

But if James quit or was unable to continue, they could find a replacement.

They could, but that would be just weird. James-less DT is something I don't want to think about.

If Nevermore breaks up, I'll gladly take Warrel Dane

I love Warrel, but I highly doubt he'd fit in DT. Neither his voice nor his lyrics really gel with DT's sound, IMO.

But on the subject of Nevermore...I will say that when MP quit, I was hoping Van Williams would replace him, though.

Wait...

What if MP replaces Van Williams now?

Haha! That'd be interesting, wouldn't it? I really don't see much of a future for Nevermore, though. The last album was garbage, and it's easy to see why Loomis and Williams left after it. Without Loomis around, is it really Nevermore anymore? It'd probably just turn into stuff like Warrel's solo album, which doesn't really go with the traditional Nevermore sound.

It'd be hilarious to hear vocal tradeoffs between Warrel and MP, though!

Haha I could see that happening! It would be quite interesting though, but as you said, I think Nevermore may call it quits after this. Jeff had a significant role in the band and now that him and the drummer are gone, they may lose their Nevermore sound overall

Russell Allen or this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r28LLqyXBKs

Edit: That guy's name is Will Shaw, he nails the LaTM version of the 'found it's all caught up with me' lyric (3:34) in that vid. There's no doubt he has the range, but there aren't many singers that I can think of that belt out the notes with so much power like LaBrie, and this guy doesn't have that same effect - not knocking him though he has a great voice!

ekuban

I think the dude from the band Wolf would be a good one to audition if it were to happen. Please dont leave James. :metal

Crikey! Yeah I forgot all about Will Shaw. Good call!   :tup
