Thanks for sharing.

Can't help but hear a mellowed version of the Rolling Stones "You Can't Always Get What You Want"

I swear, I did not read your post before I posted mine.

Great minds think alike, i guess...

Put pieces like that into a DT song, and you'll certainly get an epic song. Hope JR in DT11 will be more of this and less wacky sounding solos.

It only reinforces the truth that he's a class act when that's the first thing we think of to describe him.

I love how he spontaneously sings some of the melodies he's improvising. I love to see him sing background vocals for DT one day.

Thank you for sharing the link.  That was a nice tribute during this terrible event.

Accelerando

I really hope he does stuff like this in DT11

I actually hear that too.  Nevertheless, I wish I had half the class that this man has.

FretMuppet

Jordan adds so much emotion to his playing, what a wonderful message to the people of Japan.

The bit at 1:57 has to be my favourite JR melody, its just... wow. I wonder if he uses his improv ideas for any DT songs

And apparently so do yours. :D

I hope I wasn't included in that little jab, Nick. :'(

That was amazing. If Jordan doesn't get at least one emotional piano break on the new album (like in Blind Faith or One Last Time), I'll flip out. So much potential that it seems like they haven't bothered to tap into nearly enough.

Seconded. Considering the amount of piano improvisations he's recorded and uploaded in the past few months, it would make so much sense for that style to surface on the new record. Plus, since that piano break in Blind Faith is one of my top JR moments in DT history, I'd be happy to see a similar section or two on DT11.

KevShmev

Very nice.  I'd love to see DT allow Rudess to do a slower piano piece like that on the new album.  Every song doesn't have to be a full band composition.

Ultimetalhead

Thought just occurred. What if DT pulled a Yes and had a few epic full band compositions and then a bunch of solo material sprinkled in between? JP could have a great slow solo, JM could do a bass solo, JR could blow our minds with another emotional piece, JLB could go insane with vocal layering and harmonizing, and the new drummer could show off his chops.

I'd be down with that.

Ben_Jamin

As I said in one of the speculation threads, the album begins with a piano intro....would be epic.

I still think that the melody I pointed out a few posts above will make it on the next album since its not the first time I heard JR play that...

Well considering we had an earthquake here in New Zealand recently, we kinda feel for the people of Japan.
This contribution is real nice. Thanks for sharing it with us.
