That's the only cool part about that song.

I really love FII as is and wouldn't want ACOS on it (despite ACOS' greatness).  Also, people arguing for ACOS to go on I&W made me wonder how a FII with the original version of Metropolis Pt. 2 would have fared...

Also I don't see how ACoS fits on anything but I&W based on how the recording sounds. It would feel completely out of place on FII.

Fail

Huh?

How is a song recorded in '95 featuring Sherinian on Keyboards fit better with I&W?  Production wise it sounds very FII.

Everything about ACoS sounds more like I&W and nothing like FII.
And yet the recording belongs to that era. To the extent that Raise the Knife was going to appear on the Change of Seasons EP for a while.

Just because they've had an idea kicking around for a while doesn't mean they've got to draw a line under it and go "NO." Much of Scenes from a Memory was written for FII. A huge contingent of Erotomania was written for Images and Words. Puppies on Acid was an intro to Take the Time. Stars burn cold, sofas can read - it's a big universe.

They rewrote ACoS from the 1989 version before recording it, anyway. Just as they rewrote SfaM from the Met pt. 2 demo.

1. Burning My Soul
2. Speak To Me
3. A Change of Seasons
4. Hollow Years (demo)
5. Trial of Tears
6. Hells Kitchen
7. Lines In The Sand w/ added verse

Pretty interesting to hear this with crossfades and everything.
I quite like that setlist.. will put it on winamp later. Imo I probably would change Speak to me for Analee.

It was a hard choice for me to put either Anna Lee or Speak to Me. But now that I listen to it, Anna Lee would be pretty amazing before ACoS.

DarkEternalNight

FII would still be my 2nd favorite album. For some reason, ACOS has never clicked with me.

Yes it is, I'm spinning it on my car and it's awesome.

Nice...I thought Id try something different and see if I could make it flow well with an epic in the middle.

I agree with the bolded part, but if they waited to record it along with the rest of Falling into Infinity and left out the weaker songs, it would be a pretty fantastic album.

I can't imagine ACoS with the FII snare

Tomislav95

Raise the Knife, Speak to me and Cover my eyes are from FII demos, right? Better than all songs from orginal FII :\
