I miss the Ibanez, although the MM is a sweet guitar.

I've just watched Rock Discipline again and I've noticed that guitar interaction part is all about the MM guitar, and during the DVD JP plays his Ibanez, I can only gather the dvd was produced after his MM deal.

Anyway, does anyone know why JP changed to MM in the first place?

The DVD came out after he switched, but I assume the VHS had no such part. He's always maintained that he switched because it was "time for a change."

I really don't know what to think here. As far as live goes, I think he sounds fantastic with the Musicman. Don't really dig how much processing he's got going on at times, but that's that. His tone could sound a lot meaner and more 'real' with less FX.. I'm sure he'll come around at one point. Doesn't ruin the gig in any way, whatsoever.

Overall, I'd say I dig the guitar sounds on the older records a bit more. But that also has a lot to do with the general production and mastering. I think SC sounds terrible, and Black Clouds sounds pretty good, for an overcompressed record. That said though, his lead sounds are amazing. I love how much it cuts through, and how much chunk there still is to it in the low end. Reeaaally got it right in the guitar solo department.

By the way, I was just listening to the 2007 remix of 'Take the Time'. What were they thinking? That's the ugliest, most lifeless sound I've ever heard. That snare. I just can't stop lolling about it. I'm worried about the persons who actually thought the remix was an improvement over the original mix.
