I think this is probably one of DT's most beautiful songs. I think it needs way more appreciation than it recieves  :D

Here's me hoping it will recieve rotation next tour. Seeing this song played live would make my life complete.

Ħ

Major props!  :tup :tup :tup

It always seems to be voted against in the Survivors, though...

One of my favorite songs  :hefdaddy :heart

tri.ad

Love it. Great song, and I love JP's solo in it.

Do you like the clothes she wears today?
Colliding love affair against a shade
Often times I wish she'd speak to me
Her holy open book, a world revealed to see

:heart :heart :heart

I kept on waiting for something to happen. Kinda glad that was left off...

The Way It Used To Be on the other hand...

I had the pleasure of witnessing this song live on the octavarium tour and it is a good one  :tup

Its a simply beautiful. Great atmosphere too, and the groove of the bass lines.

nikostheater

Great song.
I like both the "cleaning the closet" version and the live at rotterdam version.

Occasional_Madman

Currently tied with Eve for favorite B-side. Love James' use of falsetto in this one. Better than 3/4 of FII, IMO.

Ohhh, tell me what you're thinking...

It's still one of DT's best soft songs in my book, IMO.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. Just a damn shame it was never put out on a studio release.

Is there a bootleg or official release with this?

commanderbob

I always thought this song would make a great end credits song on a movie.  Start it during the very end of the movie and move to credit screen when James kicks in.

There is a GDT release for the show that I went to, which I own, however I cannot share it because of GDT's rules. As for other shows I'm not sure, I don't think its on any live fanclub discs that I can remember or any live Ytsejam stuff. I could be wrong here though!

Bone_Daddy

Great song. Use to play the hell out of it 'bout 2 years ago.

The drums are epic!!!  :metal

RaiseTheKnife

Saw it live twice:  '98 in with Derek on keys, and in '06 in San Francisco.  Truly a gem from that era.

The song in general, or, specifically from the Octavarium tour?

A live version is available on the 1998 fan club cd (and the 5 Years in a LiveTime video/dvd), while the original demo is available on the 1999 fan club cd and the FII Demos cd.

That's the unplugged version, right?  I mean the Octavarium tour version.

Adami

I've only heard the Rotterdam version, but it's one of my favorites. I wish DT would try to capture that kind of mood and atmosphere more often. :)

Ben_Jamin

That's why I like the song. The mood and atmosphere is soothing.

DarkLord_Lalinc

I absolutely love the guitar solo. I need to listen to an 8VM era bootleg of this song.

tumbok

i think i am the minority here.

too freakin' long song for a electric drum kit to be used
