Sure, but it certainly attracts people. Like MP with his Modern Drummer awards. I remember those seemed like very impressive feats when I first got into Dream Theater, and made me want to look up more stuff.

I've not voted on this more than once, and generally agree with you, but in fairness - last time a DT member won one of these polls, we got a very cool interview with John Myung, which is a pretty scarce commodity - definitely worth the effort put in.

The fact that it's so easy to multivote does kind of undermine it as a format, though.

I love how sloppy he is. Half his notes don't even ring out. And then "HEY WATCH ME DO A PINCH HARMONIC" and then botch it.

If this can be considered a great guitarist, I'd say Alexi is a breath of fresh air.
