6:00.  This song has Mike Portnoy written all over it.  Though I have no idea what direction they'd take for auditions.. I'm sure they'd mix it up a bit.

?

I'm sure the drummer candidates had to play Regression, Through My Words, Through Her Eyes, Vacant and The Silent Man! :lol

I'm sure all of the drummers did a very good job and I know Dream theater will make the right choice.

A nightmare to remember - endurance
Metrópolis Prt 1 - is a must
The dance of the eternity - even for the former drummer is a headache!
The spirit carries on - to see if he can adhere to slow tempo after the previous 3.
IN THE NAME OF GOD - now if you want to give a real challenge to ANY drummer give him this song, those latin rythms could rip his soul out haha.

I think Charlie Zeleny said that the songs he covered on his youtube account are the songs they are using for auditions.

Those are:

A Nightmare to Remember
The Spirit Carries On
Metropolis Pt. 1
The Dance of Eternity

So...three of those.  I'm guessing ANTR, TSCO, and TDOE.

Nice guesses, guys! Now, the reason I brought this thread up is to ask: does anyone know what type/brand/model of drums were used at the auditions? Looks like DW, but I'm not sure which one. Much obliged!

Don't most drummers say that "The Great Debate" is Portnoy's most difficult DT song?

The Dance of eternity
A Nightmare to remember

If a drummer can play these two songs all the way through, he can play anything.
I blew my own mind with this, I can't believe I posted this. They actually played these two in audition, and even JP said, regarding to TDOE, ''If a drummer can play that song with us, he can pretty much play any song.''
