Chance of video recording?

I'm so excited about the current audition sessions going on. I'm hoping that they will be documented and released after the "winner" has been announced. At the very least, I would like to see footage of the chosen drummer's sessions (i.e. the band only releases the footage of the new member's stuff).

Any chance?

I wouldn't say no.  It's an interesting time in the band's history, they may want some documentation of it for something down the road.

I don't think that it is very likely. It would put a stamp on six amazing drummers saying "ALMOST the new DT drummer, but too bad". While it surely is an honour to be picked for the audition, given the common behaviour particularly on the internet, it would have a bad effect on those six drummers that wouldn't get picked.

Also, it would be quite a new thing, because as far as I know, no band (at least none I know) has released footage from auditions for new musicians (except for Metallica in SKOM).

They might never release it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had a camera running just so they can refer to it later when they make their decision.

I was just about to bring up SKOM while I was reading that, then got till the end.  I would like to see the audition of whoever gets the DT job though.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

As I recall, they recorded (and later released) the vocal auditions, even the losing auditions.  We might see something down the line, but probably not for a while.  I think they should release the winning audition before DT11, though, so the fans can accept him as a member of the band.
