^Well, I agree with you.^  And thankfully, now that MP is gone, this is one possibility that is right out.

So...you say that TYJ in OiaLT surpasses the original....but you're thankful that it is now out of the picture.  Um?

No, I was responding to IdoSC, but I must have gotten ninja'd.

I like the Majesty songs.  The idea of them never being played live makes me sad.

Really?  They're pretty, I don't know, amateurish.

However, it's great to have better recordings of them with better production and with JLB.  The Majesty Demos are almost unbearable (although, I'll admit that they had some wicked bass lines).

Totally, but we saw what a slight bit of refinement did for Another Won.  They're amateurish, but they also have a freshness and energy that the band never recaptured.  This isn't necessarily bad, I'm glad DT matured.  But it would be fun to hear Two Far at a show.  The keyboard break that first appears at 1:58 is pure awesome.

The Spirit Carries On, Live Scenes From New York.

The studio version just lacks Theresa lifting the whole song to another place at the most perfect time.

Don't forget the gospel choir. Having them for that song is just pure win.  :hefdaddy

Definately THIS!  the entire Scenes concept live was sploogerific.  It brought sooo much energy to the songs.

However, Hollow yrsvfrom Budokan  is probably numero uno in my book.  That solo and JLB's soaring finish elevate that song

About Majesty demos. I'd still love to see more of them being played, obviously not on every performance, but if one set (maybe 30th anniversary tour) had ALL Majesty songs played, like one song every now and then, and the tour had a multiple-shows DVD, I'd love to see all of them there.

By the way, the one song I'd love to hear them redoing out of Majesty demos is Your Majesty...just heard the version with JLB, and out of all the performances of him that I've ever heard, this might be the worst...

I have been on a WDADU binge.... and i agree with everyone talking about  Another Hand - The Killing Hand. JAW DROPPING. Forgot who mentioned it but the version on the Hollow Years single is epic. I am just sad that we don't have any live releases of it with Charlie

That would be me.   ;)

I have a bootleg of Learning to Live from a show I attended and I've got to say definitely that. The jam was ethereal.

Pretty much all the extended versions DT has done for their particular tours really strike a chord with me.
In particular Beyond This Life off Live in Budokan, and Surrounded (Chaos In Motion CD Version).

I also prefer Raise the Knife & Afterlife off Score, Burning My Soul & Cover My Eyes from the 5 Years in a Livetime DVD, and the alternate version of Hollow Years (which is off the FII Demos disc, but the first time I heard it was live). In the name of god is pretty awesome live, I don't like it as much on the studio recording. Oh, and ANTR was pretty epic live last year, Mike doing the Cookie Monster vocals whilst drumming like a madman was epic.

There are several others I love live but I also love the studio recordings: A Mind Beside Itself & Learning to Live from LSINY, Blind Faith from Chaos In Motion, Metropolis Pt 1, Octavarium & 6DOIT from Score. And the extended Solitary Shell from the last tour was awesome, but the original is magic too.
