Whilst we always appreciate new membership (its great to have new people to discuss stuff with) and can understand people shifting as its not looking like MP.com will contain as much DT focused news as it once did, I wish to point out that we in no way want to see any animosity displayed to MP.com and its membership, and portnoy himself. No matter what has and will go down as a result of recent events, this site wishes to respect the band and all its past and current members (see the rules) and we wont tolerate any activity such senseless bashing and forum trolling/invasions and the like. I know its not been suggested so far, so this is just a friendly reminder to keep it civil.

Right now thats over, may I say welcome to you all. :) Enjoy your stay.

Please choose which option is applicable, im sure given the recent events a lot of people would be interested to see the flow-on effects!

After having a topic and 3 posts deleted in the last 24 hours, without saying anything which broke the rules, i will surely stop posting there.

Nothing to do with MP, just wanted to see how the past few months events have shifted peoples go-to-source for DT/general music news.  Lets face it, MP has a larger following and as the moderators here suggested, they will probably get  alot more traffic out of this shift in the band.

Zydar

I'm still a member of both forums, but I have drastically spent less time there in recent weeks.

Lowdz

Only a member here (now). You probably need a category for "you were banned for upsetting MP". Would've ticked that.

I have an account on both forums. But I only consider myself a DTF member.

phentalmyst

Same for me.  DTF is my #1 go-to site.  I just like the overall setup, look and feel of this place.  The mods run a tight ship, but work hard to keep it fun and interesting.  Tight but loose, just like the music itself should be.

I'd be quite interested in whether any people have left MP.com just 'cause it's not a DT site any more. It used to be the de facto official DT boards, given that MP was synonymous with Dream Theater in many ways - he was definitely its mouthpiece. It was the biggest DT community, but you can't really call it one any more - especially not with the way they've ceased to allow discussion of JLB's projects, etc.

Which makes this the DT community!

skydivingninja

Until the JP forum allows member registration.  But yeah, this is really the biggest DT community now, methinks.

?

I'm only a DTF member. I have never even thought about joining MP.com forum and I don't think I ever will.

faizoff

Just recently signed up here. I've been on the mp forum for ages and will still continue to go there regardless. I joined this place as I guess the new place for DT related topics.

I signed up at MP.com a while back but I don't go there much.

This is my home

One thing I have to add though, posting replies here is so much easier. It's instant and doesn't take a lot of time loading the page. That's how the mp forum used to be. I mean to say after you click post, the page instantly reloads. I like that.

Still have my account there but I stopped posting when MP left DT. And given the things that have been going on, I will NEVER post there again. Yet, I will keep posting on DTF, JP and JLB forums.

What does the Montgomery Pfeifer company have to do with anything.

Initially, maybe. I honestly can't see MP maintaining the same popularity over the long run. People flocked to mp.com because you were sure to get any DT news straight from the horse's mouth. Now that's gone, and it remains to be seen how successful and interesting his future endeavors will be.

DTF for life...I guess :P

I never signed up for Mike's forum. And at this point, I suppose I'm glad.

Me too.

I think I did register at MP.com several years ago during one of DT.net's down periods. I haven't logged in since.

good point.

LieLowTheWantedMan

I quit MP forum. The moderation is too nazi for my liking.

antigoon

I'm only signed up there for the christmas/birthday stuff

YtseRob2112

I've been at MP for a long time and won't be leaving any time soon. I signed up here because it's another DT related forum, and I could always use more of those :)

glaurung

I don't post at MP.com because of the forum layout. Having all discussion in one board forces you to sift through a lot of crap to find what you want.
