So for some time (4-5 years ago) my music listening was split 50/50 between DT and Symphony X. At some point sX went down in rate, and was substituted by Tool and Andromeda. For the past year, I've been listening exclusively to Dream Theater.

According to my last.fm page; option 2 or 3. IRL I'm a little more musically cultured. In any case, DT is definitely one of my favorite bands.

ACID_FOX

Used to be one, but now I'd say four.

hefdaddy42

Option 4

I've never been option 1 or 2.

Option three. They're my favourite band and they've got a massive and versatile discography, so they do get fairly heavily played compared to the next most frequent. But it's far, far, far from 99%. Maybe 20%? They've got the biggest slice of the pie, but it's a well-shared pie.

Volk9

Needs a few more options, but I chose 4. I barely listen to them anymore. Not even once a month

Well said.

MetalManiac666

Option #4.  I honestly don't see how someone could solely listen to one band for any length of time.

Seventh Son

Other. Like about 2-3%

I like DT but there are just too many good bands to limit yourself to only DT.

Word. I've been meaning to do a full discography listen one of these days though.

The Letter M

I voted 99% because lately, most of what I've been listening to has been DT, and anything by them! Studio, live, official, bootleg (released through YtseJam that is), mixes I have made (like my version of the 12SS)... it's been mostly DT. I may slip out of this phase in a little while though, so we'll see...

yeshaberto

I have my whole library on shuffle...DT may not come up often, but far more than any other single band

AwakeFromOctavarium

Used to be Option 1, but currently I fall under option 4.

This.

pogoowner

There was a time when option 3 applied, about 7 years ago. But now I'm at option 4, and I honestly don't listen to them very often at all.

?

fsh3702

about half of my musical time is devoted to DT.

Nihil-Morari

The facts: About 5GB from 110GB total in my Itunes.
I don't really listen to DT as much as many other bands in my library.

37 albums/dvds/vinyls in my physical collection, nearly 300 total.

Conclusion, I'm a DT collector, but rarely listen to them anymore.

I'm gonna go kill myself now.

I listen to DT as often as at least one other band

Portrucci

0.1%

I don't have anything particular against them, just no longer  interested. But I am not averse to occasionally spinning Awake or A Change of Seasons

Sigz

Option 4. I almost never listen to them anymore; every once and a great while I'll throw SFAM on.

DT - 25%
A7X - 25%
Everything else - 50%

Summers

Never really do this any more, but in my mid to late teens I'd discover a band who I really liked and then just listen to solely them for ages and ages, maybe very infrequently in that time listen to another band.  This was the case with DT who I probably listened to almost 100% for months, now though I don't listen that much.  If one of my favourite bands releases a new album then I usually listen to that a lot just after it comes out so the last time I listened to DT heavily was maybe for a month after BC&SL, but now it's just the odd song every now and again when I feel like it, think I listened to the whole of SFAM a couple months back or something.

Pretty much this.  Hah.

LieLowTheWantedMan

They're my favourite band, but they're about 5%. I just have way too many other bands to listen to.

Dublagent66

DarkEternalNight

I'm in the stage of discovering new music so I don't listen to them as frequent as I used to but I still list them as my 3rd favorite band.

Arcaeus

Other, the only time I listen to DT now is when they come up on shuffle. Still enjoy them when they do so, but I rarely choose to listen to them. There's too much other music.
