What song would you like to see DT do a cover of? Here are a few of mine:
Supper's Ready - Genesis
A Plague Of Lighthouse Keepers - Van der Graaf Generator (but that might be weird)
Birds Of Fire - Mahavishnu Orchestra
Close To The Edge - Yes
Idioglossia - Pain Of Salvation

I'll think of more soon.

tri.ad

Marillion - The Invisible Man
Rush - Natural Science (didn't they do that already?)
U2 - Bad (and I'm sure that they have done this as well)
Genesis - A Trick Of The Tail
Iron Maiden - The Legacy
Yes - Yours Is No Disgrace

I'd like to see them cover odyssey by Dixie dregs, not only hear them cover it.

Really, though, probably Genesis' 8th album, Wind & Wuthering. If there was ONE Genesis album I'd love to hear them cover it would be this one (although Selling England By The Pound is really close behind) because it's darker than their previous album and it contains some tasteful playing by everyone involved. Petrucci would have a lot to cover, especially doing Hackett's acoustic parts. There's plenty of nice keyboard sections all over the album, and Collins' jazz fusion drumming would certainly be a challenge to Portnoy. And if anything, the final three tracks, "Unquiet Slumbers For The Sleepers..."/"...In That Quiet Earth"/"Afterglow" would just be epic to hear live by them.

Seventh Son

Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Would love to see LaBrie try to pull off Bruce's "AND DOWN COMES THE R-R-R-RRRRAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNN!"  :metal

It was damn good when I suggested it about 2 years ago as well.

King Crimson's Epitaph, but I'm not sure if James' voice would suit it. If not, a 21st Century Schizoid Man with a super-fast instrumental section.

isn't Mirrors already quite fast?

I'd love to see them cover In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly.
Or maybe a complete cover of Animals, that would be sick.

While we're at King Crimson, I'd love to see a rendition of Starless. The final part surely won't be as epic though, since it's very bass-driven and I don't think that the sheer punch of the bass on the album version would be even remotely reached...

I doubt they would because Mike has already covered "Starless" with Neal Morse and Randy George, but that version is pretty fantastic! Real sax and violin! I would suggest hearing that one if you want to her some great MP drumming covering a King Crimson tune!

Yeah man that'd be balls to wall outstanding.

Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas

And i mean the whole thing, not just the guitar solo in The Big Medley. i saw that Labrie can sorta do a Freddie Mercury in Tenement Flick of the Valley, so I'm curious as to how he'd do in this.

yeshaberto

rush - camera eye and witch hunt.  It seems like they did one or both, but I would love to see it live

Jarlaxle

Rush-The Trees, with an epic "Octavarium style" ending after "hatchet, axe, and sword!". For me that song ends too abrubtly, and it would be a fantastic piece of music with a sick ending

WDADU

The Call Of Ktulu- Metallica
Fade To Black- Metallica
The Wickerman- Iron Maiden

Actually, come to think of it; I think Ride The Lightning would be a better candidate for them to tackle next for their next cover set. It seems like it would fit James better than any other Metallica album.

perfey

Anything of Shadow Gallerys material, like Room V or Tyrranny.

HA-HAAAAAAAAAAA, CHARAAAAAAAADE YOU ARE!

The entire first BOSTON album.  And, no, I'm not kidding.  Imagine DT's version of "Smokin'" or, "Rock & Roll Band."  I lie awake at night thinking about this.  No, I don't really.  But, it'd be pretty damn cool.

ThroughHerEyesDude6

I concur, and now I want to hear Labrie sing Peace of Mind

ReaperKK

Anything by dredg, Tool.

Also Poker Face by Lady Gaga would be a neat cover

I disagree with Tool, I don't think James' voice would suit it AT ALL, although Myung would surely do a good job.

And Poker Face might actually work.

Dude, that would be amazing.  In fact, let's throw the album, "Third Stage" in there, too.
