It took me a while to get into both Pull Me Under and Take the Time. And now I'm finally starting to appreciate Learning to Live.

8VM

Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence Disc 2 didn't click with me until about the 3rd or 4th listen. Now its one of my favorite songs and albums  ;D

New Millennium.

Most of the songs I dislike at first, I keep disliking.
same with you. but i like it now, pure DT style progressiveness.

Maria

Octavarium
A Change of Seasons
Learning to Live

There are a lot more but those are the only ones that come to mind.

Rina

I didn't like "Scarred" and "Lines in the Sand" at first. Now they've grown on me.   :metal

Jamesman42

To me, there's a difference between going a while without understanding a song (as was the case with 8VM and ACOS, because I was still new to songs like that) and straight up not liking a song.

With that said, songs I didn't like and now do are

Lines in the Sand
Under a Glass Moon
Voices
Lifting Shadows Off a Dream
\o\ lol /o/

Super Dude

The live shows I've seen improved my opinion on many songs. A few notables are Innocence Faded, Peruvian Skies, and Scarred.

I did not like these songs at first, but I now enjoy quite a bit.

Trial of Tears
The Mirror
Peruvian Skies (for a while it was my least favourite DT song)
Finally Free (currently in my top 5 DT songs)
Erotomania
Honor Thy Father

I started listening to DT at age 7, so this list is going to be a little long.

Surrounded
The Silent Man
Hollow Years
Anna Lee
Take Away My Pain
Through my words
Through Her eyes
SDOIT disk 2 (I didn't quite get it at first, but on the 4 listen it clicked quite nicely)

It was a very young, impatient and immature version of myself that didn't like these songs at the time, but I absolutely love them now and have loved them for at least the past 10 years.

Cranky

Metropolis Pt. 1
Learning To Live
A Change of Seasons
All of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Octavarium

...

Caught in a Web
Innocence Faded
Erotomania
The Silent Man

All of them were painful to listen to at first. Now I see the awesomeness of them all!

The Silent Cody

Lost Not Forgotten for sure, now I love it!!
From earlier albums, hmmm.... Octavarium, The Answer Lies Within, Blind Faith, The Great Debate, Home, Trail Of Tears, Lines In The Sand, Take Away My Pain... I think it's all ;)

Update to my above post

It took me ages to get into Scarred. I can remember listening to it and basically being a bit confused by its structure, so it never really did anything for me. Now it's probably my favourite off Awake.

mazegeek999

I was really disappointed when I first listened to The Glass Prison. Now it's one of my favorite songs.  :metal

jcmistat

I was all about SFAM and Awake I was so hyped on those two albums but no longer anymore.

There's honestly too many to list but I'm going with the entire Falling into Infinity album. I disliked almost all the songs and refused to give it listens. Its sooooo much better than what I gave it credit for.

ResultsMayVary

I didn't like Octavarium (the song; the rest of the album clicked immediately) at first, now it's in my top 5. And I can pretty much say the same thing for the whole prog side of DT, then I finally was able to appreciate it for it's epicness about a month or two after first discovering the band.

Metrovarium

Pretty much all of Awake. Especially Erotomania and Scarred.

Also, Pull Me Under.

Ruba

Misunderstood (I couldn't understand the outro), Anna Lee, The Killing Hand, Hollow Years, Voices, You Not Me, Surrounded, Hell's Kitchen. At least those.

Nekov

All of SFAM. When I was introduced to it I was listening to lots of Metal so I didn't quite get it. Luckily my musical taste improved and now I can't get enough of the album

SlitherX

Surrounded
Lerarning to live
all of Awake
Blind Faith

obscure

Most of the ballads... It always takes me longer to appreciate them...

All of Awake. Nothing really caught me at first, it took a few listens before it all sunk in.
same here, and since it was the first DT album i listened to, it prevented me to becoming a fan for a few years, now i really love it :heart :metal

Octavarium... I remember thinking upon the first listen "it's good, but it's no Change of Seasons".  Now, it's my fave DT song.  I'll also echo the sentiments on Awake.  I liked Scarred and Lifting Shadows, but the rest of the disc took a while.  Same with The Glass Prison.  I just wasn't ready for that much metal from DT at the time.

Used to skip "Lie"....could not get into that song untill I saw a youtube video of it live. Then it just clicked with me and it became one of my all-time favorite DT songs.

Bongasti

At least Lines in the Sand. I used to think that it's a complete mess and I just couldn't get into it. Then I realized how stupid I had been. It's easily a top 10 DT song.
