My favorite album is In a Flesh Aquarium by Unexpect.

mainframe004

Picked the third option. Albums: Machinae Supremacy's Redeemer (Retail Edition) and DT's Images and Words.

faemir

It used to be: The Perfect Element, Part I. Then Still Life, then In Absentia.

But Deadwing has made major gains on In Absentia recently...

King Postwhore

Rush--Power Windows
DT----SDOIT
P-Tree-Deadwing

lonestar

I'd be stuck between Marrillion's Clutching at Straws or Yes' Tales From Topagraphic Oceans.

DarkEternalNight

A month later and it's now switching between Images and Words, Rammstein's Liebe ist fuer alle da, or Rush's Permanent Waves.

emindead

No album has ever done to me what Scenes From a Memory did to me. So yes.

Pirate

Elsydeon

I would say my favorite album is redemptions origin of ruin

zxlkho

I voted "no" in the poll a few weeks ago, but since then Images and Words has really moved up the list for me. It's very close to In Absentia at the moment.

Yup... Scenes has been my favourite album for the past five-ish years and I can't imagine anything ever beating it. I hope it does, so I have something in my life more beautiful and amazing than I can already comprehend, but if it doesn't I'm happy. I love that album more than almost any person or thing I know.

Tick

I guess if I had to pick an all time favorite album it would be, Rush, Hemispheres or Marillion, Marbles. Hmm...maybe its Transatlantic, The Whirlwind.
Its a hard thing to do. :justjen

or Scenes From a Memory. :eek

or maybe... Steely Dan, Aja.

awake at present and in the foreseeable future.

before listening to DT, metallica, pantera, radiohead, gun and roses, and i like dire straits' album <borthers in arms> very much. but awake crush them all.

Come to Ottawa and I'll be more than happy to show you something even more beautiful and amazing than you can comprehend... :eyebrows:

:o you have Christian Bale naked and held hostage? I'm there!

AwakeFromOctavarium

I just can't decide because I overplayed most of their albums. I don't have the love and passion I used to have for them.

Seventh Son

Nope. A DT album might crack my top 25 (Images and Words or Awake). Now, I don't mean anything bad by that, because everything in that top 25 is pretty much perfect.

Not a set list, but these come to mind for me (One album per band):

Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
Jethro Tull - A Passion Play
Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak
The Lord Weird Slough Feg - Hardworlder
Hammers of Misfortune - The Bastard
Mercyful Fate - Melissa
Yes - Close to the Edge
Dream Theater - Images and Words
Rush - A Farewell to Kings
Fates Warning - Awaken the Guardian
Cormorant - Metazoa
Venom - Welcome to Hell
Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
Morbid Angel - Covenant
Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten
Death - Scream Bloody Gore
Dismember - Like an Everflowing Stream
Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss*
Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Amorphis - Silent Waters
Agalloch - The Mantle
Bathory - Blood Fire Death
Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse
Immortal - At The Heart of Winter

So yeah, with all of these albums being 10/10 for me, I couldn't just take one and say it is my favorite album ever. If I were lost on a desert island with a cd player, I'd need all these albums, not just one of them.

* I do not endorse the artists personal views in any shape, form, or fashion.

Um...sure.

(If that's what it will take to lure you into my basement. Wait, what?)

blackngold29

Not sure I could pick my favorite album, it would be one of:

Pink Floyd - The Wall
DT - Awake
DT - SFAM
