Buried Alive was...alright. I'm finding that I can already tell my biggest complaint about the upcoming album is going to be the lyrics. Some of these are borderline cringe-worthy.

im a huge a7x fan, but im not too crazy about the 2 released tracks. the nightmare solo is friggin awesome but other than that, ehh. hopefully the album is good. but one thing ill miss the most is the rev's vocals

The lyrics in Nightmare WERE cringe-worthy.

IT'S YOUR FUCKING NIGHTMARE

*cringe*

Average response from an average A7X fan (i.e. scene kid) - "Oh my god, it's so cool and edgy because he said FUCK. That makes it so awesome and angry and metal."

I hear that they have some of them on one of the songs. Recorded a few days before he died.

They're doing a UK tour with Stone sour (and MP), got my tickets for it :D

I've been a fan of A7X since City of Evil, I've really dug all their stuff (except for Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, God I hate that album). Nightmare and Buried Alive both kinda bored me at first, but they've both grown on me a lot.

For someone who's more of an A7X fan (then most here) and actually really being affected by The Rev's passing (as a fan of the band and The Rev himself), the video for Nightmare is really quite heart-wrenching in an eerie way. There're so many references to him, and the ending is an awfully powerful image.

At first glance, perhaps for someone who doesn't really know a lot about the whole ordeal of his passing or doesn't understand the references, the video might seem to fit more into their whole image-being-over-the-top-stupid-emo schpeel. But, before people start bringin' on the comments of this sort, try and understand that there actually is quite a deeper meaning to the video.

They censor the word trigger...Oh MTV, you're ridiculous.

I felt weird during the last few seconds of the Nightmare video, I felt almost as if they made a mistake doing what they done. I have read reviews about the album and the song "Fiction" (which is about The Rev) is meant to be very eerie, the chorus is sung by just him too. It also states that when you listen to the chorus, it feels like you have just been kicked in the chest and if you are a mega-fan of the band, then it will cause you to feel slightly sad.

Phew, just managed to get tickets for Sevenfold in London. Everywhere i looked said they were sold out for both days, until I tried looking for multiple tickets. It seems single tickets were unavailable, but if you bought a batch they were on sale. Anyway, got 3 tickets for Sunday at Hammersmith, should be good!

Yeah the video definitely hits hard if you know the band well enough.

Though I myself was hoping for Portnoy cameo... maybe as one of the patients in the hospital.

In case anyone hadn't seen it, cause of death was revealed. Overdose of prescription drugs from the looks of things

And for the record, I rate STST as their second best album, behind WTF.

Even as a newer AX7 listener (for reasons that no one will ever guess), that video was creepy on a number of levels. If you look at the lyrics as being about the death of The Rev, it's like the band's saying they're at fault and now they have to live in a Nightmare they deserve.

From a craft standpoint, M. Shadows is awesome in it.

I'm not sure that's what the song's about. I'm pretty sure I heard the singer say they kept a lot of the lyrics to that song strictly because the drummer loved them.

Yeah, but then they go a sort of post-modernist reinterpretation for the video.

The song by itself is literally about going to hell. I liked the more metaphorical interpretation they used for the video by placing it in a mental hospital.

Apparently it was going to be somewhat of a concept album following the theme of the title track before The Rev died.

From MP's Facebook:

Small clip of the song Fiction (with some of Revs vocals), very chilling and haunting. Sounds like it will be a good song, comforting in a way.
