"Hot Dog" is a fun song; a bit corny, but fun, nonetheless.

As far as LZ being overplayed, I used to never be able to listen to them, because of how much the stations I used to listen to played the crap out of them (back in the early to mid 90s), but I never listen to the radio anymore, so I only hear LZ when I turn them on (not counting them if I hear them out, at a friend's house, etc.), so whenever I listen to them now, they sound pretty fresh.

Ramble On deserves so much more attention then it gets.
Indeed. My favorite track on their second album.  ;D

My top 10 would probably look something like this:

10. All my love
9. Since I’ve been loving you
8. No quarter
7. The Rain Song
6. Ramble on
5. The Crunge
4. In my time of dying
3. I’m gonna crawl
2. Kashmir
1. Stairway to heaven

I even ranked the songs from worst to best, the worst being Night flight.

I can't say anything bad about Led Zeppelin as they were a great band, but I don't have much desire to listen to them....much.

Kashmir is my favorite song of theirs.

I have exactly one LZ album, Led Zeppelin IV.  It's pretty good, but there's plenty of better music out there.  Favorite song is "When The Levee Breaks."

"The Crunge" is your favorite song from HOTH?  Interesting.  To me, that is the only stain on an otherwise phenomenal album (possibly my favorite by LZ).  If forced to do a LZ top 10, it would look something like this:

1. "Over the Hills and Far Away"
2. "Fool in the Rain"
3. "Ten Years Gone"
4. "Stairway to Heaven"
5. "The Rain Song"
6. "Immigrant Song"
7. "How Many More Times"
8. "In My Time of Dying"
9. "What Is and What Should Never Be"
10. "Dazed and Confused"

Yeah, I could name another 10-20 songs that I absolutely love that didn't make my top 10.  Heck, LZII is a flawless record, and only one song from it even made my top 10.  My top 5 would probably be pretty consistent, but the 6-10 slots would probably vary greatly depending on my mood.

No clue why they haven't made one yet. Maybe licensing issues. But I really don't know.

Just thought I'd mention that the How the West was Won versions of Black Dog, Over the Hills and Far Away, Moby Dick and Bring It On Home slay the studio versions. And I'm tempted to add Going to California to that list. All of which is saying a lot cos all of those bar Moby Dick are massive tracks.

Strangely enough, I find the LZII version of Moby Dick at 4 minutes boring as hell, whereas the 19 minute HTWWW version is exciting all the way.

TBH, I'm not a fan of the extended LZ jams... especially Dazed and Confused. Never did much for me.

I was watching a VH1 thing on Heavy Metal and they were talking about Zeppelin. I dunno about you guys but I had to agree with a lot of the guests on the show saying that Zeppelin are not really heavy metal. I say this only because I've heard countless places call them one of the first heavy metal bands. They're hard rock at their heaviest.

Zeppelin covered too much ground and were too transcendent to be lumped into category or genre.

Definitely not heavy metal.  I'd say the advent of heavy metal came with Black Sabbath.

I absolutely loooove the LZ live jams.   The various jams they do for No Quarter always blow me away.   :hefdaddy I agree sirbradford, it's like 2 different bands between Zep live and Zep studio.

This.  Anyone who says Zep is (or worse, INVENTED) heavy metal has never heard/studied Zeppelin and Sabbath.

Fixed.  Nothing wrong with his own opinions on how his intellectual property should/shouldn't be used.  As much as I'd be the first to buy a Zeppelin RB, I certainly respect his reasons behind not giving up the masters.
