This song is officially "cool" according to my mom.
« on: January 03, 2010, 10:26:51 PM »
Since the creative works forum always seems to be dead, I figured I'd plug this here where you can critique my playing, composing, mix, etc.
Anyways, lately, I've been on a streak of productivity. I've also been listening to a lot of Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica composer), so this is the result of both.  This tune is a fusion of ethnic percussion, techno, djent, Bear McCreary, and a string quintet. Who says acoustic guitars, a bağlama, jingle bells, and chuggy djent can't go together?

PS if you don't like ruminative guitar solos that take up the first minute of a song, skip to 0:52, that's where it gets going. Have at it.

Very very cool vibe, and the unisons sound GREAT. What did you use for the string quartet? Keyboards? But seriously sounds excellent, a bit reminiscent of DT's Home in a good way.

Thank you very much! I used Reason 4 for all the strings and keys.

- I enjoyed it a lot.  The harmony was awesome - you had some great chord progressions in there.

Excellent song dude!

Definitely hearing some POS and Ankla in there. Deft arranging, smooth style and all-around solid effort.
