Yeah, I enjoy just going on photo walks every now and then (back when I was borrowing my friends camera) but I don't ever get quite as inspired as I do when I'm working on a specific project of some kind.

That website looks really cool. Gonna sign up and keep up with what's going on to try out new techniques and such. Thanks for the suggestion mang, it's highly appreciated.

Got me in the mood to post some more piccies myself.
A bit of a mix of new and old here, and a pretty random selection I think,

Got my camera. Very satisfied so far with this product. I'm loving learning and messing with everything. Definitely getting some of the fundamentals down that I never got the chance to in the past. Can't wait to start working on some actual projects. But in the meantime, here's the shot from today I'm most proud of:

And while I'm at it I'm gonna whore out the tumblr/blog I made for my photography as I try new things and upload whatever work I enjoy: https://mediocrephotostuff.tumblr.com/

Went on a walk today with my camera, got some shots I'm really happy with:

One of the buildings on campus:

Nice, vivid colors:

More saturation:

Found this on a lightpost:

And lastly I got some shots of a sculpture on campus I found to be really awesome:

EDIT: Also @ Missthepoint, I love that butterfly photo. God damn that is gorgeous. How'd you get such a good shot?

Nice to see you're having fun with your camera. Really like the first sculpture shot, it's really interesting with it's lines and shadows.

As for the butterfly pic, erm, I just spotted it sitting there on the floor next to a wall just a few doors down from where i live. I used a shallow depth of field and as with every pic I've taken for a while now, it's taken in RAW format.

My cover for my photography page on Facebook, I was testing my new Sigma 17-70 2.8 lens!

Here's some more shots with it!

Here are some shots with my Canon 70-200 f/4L, Mostly of the Major Midget Hockey Team I work for, The Cariboo Cougars and a few from my first Major Junior Game that I shot, my home town Cougars Vs. The Victoria Royals, and a few shot of my dogs

@YtseCullen - That last pic of the dog is abosolutely gorgeous. I can't stop staring at it.

@Azyiu - Some quality material you have. I especially like the way you handle reds.  :tup

If it weren't raining, I know of a few places I am dying to start photographing. Here is something I whipped up this evening though:

I've also got a b&w version of this subject as well that I'm rather fond of.

Saw a few similar shots like those christmas tree ones on reddit earlier today. Very cool stuff man. Did you move the camera at during the exposure or just let it sit? Are the light moving at all?

And thank you. I've been utilizing a good chuck of time on post-processing to really get the image I want. It's really helping taking the limitations of taking a photo further to an actual artistic image. I love it.

Also here is one more that I finished this evening:

I love this kind of classic looking vehicles from the 50's and 60's. To me they just look both dated (in a good way), and "timeless".  :hat

Right now, I'm using the program that came with my Nikon, ViewNX 2 and then...paint.net (free photoshop like program) for anything else I might need to do to it.

So, I ended up submitting some of my stuff to a art/literally magazine my school does annually. I won't know until May if I got in, but I figured I have nothing to lose.

Here are a few shots of mine.  Some are pretty old and taken with an extremely inferior camera.

I preferred the black and white version of this:

This is an abandoned monastery here on Staten Island.  It was demolish a few years ago unfortunately.

This was a fountain from the same monastery.  I actually have a bunch of indoor shots of the monastery which I'll save for another time.

Under the Outerbridge Crossing - New York and New Jersey residents will know what this is:

Someone's backyard.  I love the view from here:

From camping up at Indian Lake many years ago - disposable camera:

From my old bedroom window - reminds of something Type O would put on a Tshirt.

More of my many nature shots, I was actually lying on the ground to take this one:

The path to nowhere:
