Born Of Osiris

So their new album is coming out July 7th. They have two songs up currently and I like it, I like the guitar tone a lot more than TNR.

Check it out.

So far it is sounding a lil more wider in scope (I wont use the word epic...not just yet)

Im liking Now Arise, esp. the outro part. I hope they use the keys and stuff more on this album, because they add to the atmosphere pretty well when their used.

save for the clipping cymbals on the 1st track, I dug it. I haven't listened to the 1 they put up today yet. The New Reign was a great debut album. More BTBAM fans need to check these guys out!

Yeah it really is :metal Hopefully the whole album is just as good. Also, is it just me or do the vocals sound much better? It sounds like he's worked on pronunciation a lot and the growls sound more "full"

yea vocals are much better. i also liked the part where the keyboardist starts the sentence and the singer ends it, and you can barely tell it was two different takes

Ahh, they have a new guitar player, I missed that. That's why the guitar on this album is so awesome. Oh god, those techno-y leads in Recreate, they're so good, so very good. dat tremolo. And because it hasn't been posted already

A lot of the solos have a very obvious Petrucci-vibe to them. That's the first thing that popped into my mind on the first listen when the solo kicked in at the end of "Follow The Signs"

I love this album. Its definately my favorite from them, and a massive step up from their previous cd. It just seems that they've finally reached their potential with the synths, vocals, and guitar playing (thank you new member :tup)

Has anybody heard the three bonus tracks? I actually may prefer the bonus of Follow The Signs better than the original. I need to listen to them more.

Man that string skipping guitar section at the end of Behold is some of the greatest guitar playing I've ever heard. It's just so clean and epic and beautiful and wonderful. Got tickets to see these guys with The Faceless, Veil of Maya and Gorod in May, will be such a great show.

i've only had the chance to listen to it like 1.5x's, but it's without question, it's a lot better than their last record, including the production.

I'm pretty obsessed with BOO at the moment. I think along with Rolo Tomassi and Devin Townsend they're my favourite band 'of the moment.' Bought a couple more of their t-shirts last night.

Here's a cool video of what is apparantly their house. Sumerian is treating them very well it seems.

I'm torn. Clearly The Discovery is better in terms of musicianship, and as a whole it's much more of an album than TNR, but that first album is 30 mins of pure non-stop awesome. The groove on some of those tracks is ridiculous, and there's not a single weak point for me. One of the best debut records I've ever heard.
