well, that riff alone sounded better than anything after TIC so I'm slightly optimistic now.

I hope this video is a good indication of what's to come in the full album. Finally, the keyboards are back! I've missed that atmosphere and mixture of keys and guitars since TIC.

I didn't care at all about Glorious Collision, but these two trailers sounded very good. I'm hoping the vocals will good.. I thought his vocals were getting less powerful after Torn.

Is Henrik really back? That makes me extremely happy. His lead guitar sound and playing are a crucial part of the Evergrey guitar sound.

Yes! Other metal bands with keyboards often sound cheesy, but Evergrey were really good at it.

I liked it a lot. In fact, I'm not really familiar with Evergrey, I've listened to their songs here and there, and I kinda promised myself I'll get into them with buying the new album and explore all of their discography then. Knowing these guys get a huge amount of love here, I have great expectations for the album, and this song left me eager to hear the rest of material.

This is the Evergrey I always liked, ISOT-RD-TIC. What a strong track, I never thought they would get back to how good they once were. This just wins on every level.

Hopefully the production doesn't suck. Man, the last two albums have been awful production wise. While the songs haven't been top notch like In Search, Recreation Day or Full Circle, the songs aren't that bad on Glorious Collusion or Torn but the production just ruins the songs for me on those two. Compressed and muddy as hell. Hell, you can barely hear the keys on Torn...

After what seemed like a band on its way back they come with this? This track alone holds its own against their very best songs IMO. It's that good. The spirit of the band is back. And the cover art for their new album isn't even ugly (like Glorious Collision), it's super cool.

Wow, that song is fucking awesome, really step back into the golden era of Evergrey.  Would have liked to see Patrick Carlsson back, but having Jonas and Henrik back I think is what Tom needed, and it shows.

Tom's voice also sounds different, it sounds meaner and fucking amazing.

Kade... did you ever grab the 2nd Epysode album that Tom was pretty much lead on?  He sounds out of this world.  You'd love both Epysode albums - I know I pimped the 1st one on you, but can't recall if you picked it up.

Holy shit, that opening might just be on par with When the Walls Go Down as the most emotional thing I've heard Evergrey do.

OK, not quite, but still. Darn impressive. And the rest of the track is great as well. Especially the solo is really good.

I bought a digital copy of the first one and it was good.  Gotta check the second one then.

Listened a few more times, and is it me, or is that solo a fair bit more technical than most Evergrey songs? I like it a lot, so it's nothing bad, but I've never heard an Evergrey solo that I'd say is just 30 seconds shredding. Again, it's awesome, but... not what I'd expect from them.

I agree. Easily the best I've heard from since TIC. I mean, I liked some stuff on pretty much every one of their albums, but this wouldn't sound out of place on RD or TIC, that's how good it is. Everytime I heard it, I find something new, and dat intro... :metal

No, it's not just you. I noticed it immediately, as well. I just played the video two more times, and fuck, it just gets better with every listen.

It's so refreshing to see a band that knows they may have taken a wrong turn, then pull themselves together and start kicking ass again. If the rest of the album is as strong as this first single, this will be one hell of a triumphant return for these guys, and I'll be thrilled.

Totally sold on the new single, and as a consequence I began to revisit In Seach of Truth, Recreation Day, and The Inner Circle. All were great listens, but The Inner Circle really is something special.

As for 'King of Errors', they really went all out on all fronts. The first verse had to be convincing right away: Tom's voice as we know it is back, almost stronger than ever. The chorus is anthemic as hell. Then just as you're getting into it, they're throwing a proggy curveball during the second verse with the TIC-ish vocal breakdown. The guitar solos are indeed shredfest to the max, but  still there's plenty of emotion and feel to it. Somehow they know how to make it work. To top it off, there's that heavy as hell breaks in the outro. As if the song wasn't epic enough already.

This song has pretty much everything. I guess sometimes more actually IS more.

I've listened to this song at least 20-30 times already. I've enjoyed some of their work after TIC but overall I've been disappointed by every album since so I had given up on the band, much like I have with PoS - they seemed to go in a direction I couldn't follow. But this song just doesn't allow me to stop listening to it. It's perfect! Well, not perfect. Perfection would have been if they had managed to squeeze in Carina somewhere in the middle.

I don't care if the rest of the album is pure folk metal or some shit like that - this has already made up for everything I've felt the band lacked in the recent years. Faith Restored!
