Here is Floor kicking ass in the television show I mentioned a while back. It is a more rocking version of a classical German opera song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcLG5X1i2QM

As usual, this show has a great production, so we will definitely get some more great Floor performances.

(the subject of this episode was of the opera singer, who is sitting there are well, the older guy, and she apparently listened to him a lot when she was younger).

Had a listen to Tarja's new album and it's another hit and miss for me.
The hit is the latter part of the album with the slower and more symphonic songs, which really allow Tarja to show her full range.
The first three songs are miss, heavy for metal sake, poor songs and not memorable at all.
All up a solid yet another unspectacular effort 6/10 for me.
I much prefer her From Spirits and Ghosts release.

Yeah, Tarja is so much better than the music she releases.

So was I wrong in thinking that Nightwhish was gonna do a DVD of their retrospective tour? Cause I feel like I haven’t heard a word about it.

I think the band is locked away working on a new album, haven't seen/heard much besides Floor posting an occasional pic from their hideaway.  But I do hope there will be a recording from that tour and thought that was likely.

Yes there will be a Decades DVD/BR not sure of release date, must involved some post production with Toumas, who is currently busy :)
If you follow @teeceermb on instagram, he is posting pics and a few video updates (no music) of the new album's recording.

Her last performance wasn't bad either, right?  ;D

Mika Jussila posted this today on his Facebook page;

Nightwish BluRay/DVD/CD-masters delivered to record company and Ville Lipiäinen, who will finish the video for release. Kimmo Ahola (AMS Studio) did fantastic job in mixing and now the files have left from our hands and you can get the package hopefully soon from the stores near you.
Soon I will start the next project with the band straight after they will start mixing of the new album at Finnvox.

If anyone cares, iTunes has 90 second samples up of every song from the forthcoming Dark Element album.

As someone mentioned this is more Nightwish than when she was in Nightwish.

Also she slowly morphing into Tarja visually.  :lol

Thanks gaz - I liked the new single more than anything on their first album so I'm going to check those samples out.

So the last couple days I've been hooked on watching youtube reaction videos for Ghost Love Score (Waken).  I guess I knew "Reaction" vids were out there but never really paid attention. As usual, I'm probably late to the party and you guys might already have seen these, I'm old and slow :P . Some of the reactions are just pure gold!  Especially from the Pop/Hip Hop peeps.  Seeing people actually cry when hearing this song for the first time is a testament to both Floor and Tuomas.  Here's a few of my Favs.......

Anyone who loves ballads and Floor owes it to themselves to watch her cover of Shallow (A Star is Born), goosebumps!

Sung like this by Floor reminds me a bit of After Forever.

At the same show (or at least it seems) she sang an english version of a dutch pop song, that's equally amazing!

I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

Yeah, I posted a while back about the show, it is 8 episodes in total and each episode is centered around one singer, with the other singers performing songs that relate to the subject of the episode. Floor's episode was very nice too, with a beautiful After Forever cover by a pop singer, a fun cover of Nemo by a dutch rock singer, and a cover of Decades of the Sun in Dutch language.

In total this show will have 6 performances by Floor + a duet with one of the other singers. The CD release of the show says Phantom of the Opera.

Yeah, Annette's big USP was that she was very different from Tarja, but they could almost be sisters based on that video.

Stoked for the new Dark Element album (where are the rest of the band?) and super stoked for the Nightwish Decades DVD, and a new album next year!

The Dark Element is not a band, Anette recently posted on instagram that it's a project between her and Jani.
With other musicians brought in as required.

Did they perform with them at their only show?  Since they don't seem to be a live act, I put little stock into the "band" besides the ones who are behind the music which really seems to just be Jani but with Anette as the face of the band as the singer.

Once again there is no band, they were on the album and in the video only.

Also, I was listening to Auri yesterday and enjoyed it, kind of forgot about it but think it is a quality project.

Tough call.  Floor's performance is slightly better in most parts (although there are a couple of short lines where I prefer her delivery in the Wacken performance, such as "...adoring beast").  But the Wacken performance is still stellar, and gets some points just for the scale and atmosphere of that show.  I'd probably put them about even.

I wasn't sure if that was meant in context to the music or the music video
