I think Imaginaerum is incredibly dull, honestly...

To each their own  :) Personally, it is my favorite Nightwish album.

Same for me, really can't stand listening to it, easily their worst album for me.

I wouldn't say worst, but it sure ain't their best.

Century Child is the best them.

I personally think it is, but it doesn't contain my favorite songs.

My top 3:
1.  Once
2.  Century Child
3.  Imaginaerium

After that, I don't really listen to the others much, other than the odd song or two here and there.  But those three are tops for sure, and 1 and 2 are almost interchangeable.  Once just sounds a tad more polished and modern, so I give it a slight edge.

Imaginaerum is Nightwish's best album. It's the only album of their's where I can listen to the whole thing. Not a weak track. Every other one of their albums have weak or even bad/boring songs.

It's close, but yes, CC is tops for me.

Are you nucking futs?  :lol  The opening and closing tracks are entirely skipable, Arabasque is clearly a bridge track (but it's kinda cool), and Tuomas's penchant for long drawn out ramblings detracts from the flagship song (on both DPP and Imag'n).  Hell, I programmed Song of Myself to end at the 7:10 mark.

I like the opening, and although I did make an edit of SOM as well, the full version never bothered me. Arabasque is awesome. Once has Creek Mary's Blood, Wish I Had an Angel and a few others I could do without. Same with Century Child. The middle section of Scartale is pretty stupid, but again, it never bothered me and I was never compelled to skip it.

Tastes, shmastes.

Exactly.  I love Creek Mary's Blood, native chant and all.  The version from End of an Era is chilling.

Creek Mary's Blood is one of the best songs on Once...
I agree with Wish I Had An Angel though. Don't like that song.

As much as I love Once, my all time fave NW is Oceanborn.
I remember playing it to death when it first came out, I love every second of it.
Played in in the car yesterday and sounds as good as ever.

Century Child is the best them.

Better than Once? :dangerwillrobinson:

Album with Dead Gardens better than CC? I'm not saying it's a bad song, but completely in a different league than any song on Century Child.

I think Once is a bit too bloated, but still a good album. Planet Hell, Ghost Love Score and Higher Than Hope are amazing.

Imaginaerum has the worst NW song ever (Storytime), Ghost River sounds a bit silly and I'm not too crazy about I Want My Tears Back, although the middle section is insanely cool when played live. Everything else is amazing. Best post-Tarja album. Anette doesn't deserve all the hate, people just should go and listen to Slow, Love, Slow. :heart

I don't hate Storytime, but I've found it pretty annoying from day one. The fact that it was overplayed on Finnish radio didn't help :\

Storytime  is an excellent song...within the context of the story.  I enjoy Imaginarium a LOT, just as much as Once.  Ghost Story(weird ass spelling), The Island, and Ghost Love Score are my top 3.

I have to go on and state my opinion on Storytime as well. It's really good! One of my favorite NW songs tbh (not that I'm too familiar with their catalogue but anyway). The whole of Imaginaerum is very likeable to me actually. Who else is looking forward to Tuomas' Uncle Scrooge thing?

AWESOME!  She sounded really out of breath on the first verse, but the grit in her voice is something neither Anette nor Tarja could ever do.  But by the time she got to the operatic parts after the second verse and then the vamping at the end...  :omg:  This is going to be a cool DVD.  Can't wait.

There has to be more to it than just the illness incident, considering the guys had asked Floor to join them for the dates after the movie premiere even before all went down.

Pretty much. But from the press release at the time it sounded like there were other differences or tensions and that this incident was just the tipping point.

I also recall Annette saying when she got sick they discovered something else was wrong with her and I've always wondered if that played a role too.
