Favorite music in a foreign language?
« on: December 03, 2009, 07:31:45 PM »
Sigur Ros don't count.

Does anyone like any bands or artists that don't sing in English?  Personally, I listen to a lot of Chinese music because it's the language I'm trying to learn, but unfortunately China seems like it's completely dead in terms of metal and rock.  Other than that, there's not much.  I like some Japanese metal "Der en Grey" comes to mind.

Rammstein by default simply because, other than Sigur Ros, it's the only band in a language other than English that I listen to.

This, but with Dimmu Borgir in place of Rammstein.

That, but with Elfonia in place of Dimmu Borgir.

I listen to a few Greek and Cypriot bands and artists, who sing in Greek. By far my favourite of these is a Cypriot folk/rock artist called Alkinoos Ioannides (can't do the greek spelling on my phone) whose music is incredible.

I also used to listen Rammstein, though their only album I still like is Mutter.

Rammstein and Oomph! (which is basically an older more versatile version of Rammstein).
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?

I just listen to music sung in Swedish and English. The only time I listen to something else is a few Rammstein tracks.

My little sister is heavy on German bands like Pur and Die Toten Hosen.
Zydar is my new hero.  I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.

I'm not sure how to pronounce the second word, so the spelling may be off

What exactly is foreign language? Because for me English is foreign language and for many other people too but as I see that's not the point of this thread for sure so if you meant favorite music in other than English language then it's our Slovak rock band Horkýže Slíže if you meant favorite music in other than English language and your home language then  it's Rammstein

Maximum The Hormone => Japanese alternative metal band whose music is a mix of System Of A Down, Tool and a bit of Red Hot Chili Peppers. Great fun, if only their CDs weren't so expensive. :sadpanda:

Then I hate all foreign language music.

I guess this.  The only other "foreign language" music I listen to is The Mars Volta (who occasionally sing in Spanish) and Muse (who sing in French for one song).
