By the way, there's a lot more discussion about Omni in the Secret Garden thread.  Maybe the these 2 threads should be merged?

I agree, they should be merged, 'cause I don't know where to post this awesome new shot of the band.

Handsome fellas, all of them.

Just posted this same news in the progpower thread, but I am excited for this

Quote
ANGRA SET NEWS!

Day 2 headliners Angra’s headliner performance will be comprised of a special set split into two parts.

For the first half, the band’s recently release and critically-acclaimed album “ØMNI” will be performed in its entirety. This will be the only time they will do that in North America. The second half will be entirely comprised of songs that you, ProgPower USA fans get to choose. This will also be the only chance to get a special non-tour setlist!

You can start voting for the songs on the link below. Keep in mind the poll closes on August 7, a week from today:

https://progpowerusa.com/angra-setlist-poll/

As a reminder... there are still a handful of tickets available for days 1 and 2. ;)

Thanks everyone!
-Milton & Nathan

Chose a bunch of songs from Secret Garden and some classics (Spread Your Fire, Angels & Demons, Carolina IV, The Voice Commanding You, and Nova Era). I'll be counting to see how many get played   :metal

Funny thing: when I told you the songs I voted for, I didn't realize I named 10 and you could only vote for 8. So now I actually have no idea what I voted for outside of the Secret Garden tracks, because I voted so quickly  :lol I would be very happy if EPG got played as it's one of my favorite Aurora tracks.

Voted your songs, minus Final Light.  Hope they play those for you guys.

What do you think are most likely to be picked?  I'll want to check those out so I am more familiar, but the fact they are playing all of Omni is fantastic since I've really been loving it.  Wonder how they will pull of Black Widow's Web live?

Also I think my favorite tracks are Magic Mirror into Always More, just love it so glad I'm going to get to see that.

Hard telling imo. I think Spread Your Fire, Angels & Demons, Carolina, Nova Era are guarantees but I could be wrong. Carry On, Heroes of Sand, ZITO, Holy Land maybe? I really have no pulse on the USA's taste in Angra.

Yea that's fair, I figured there had to be a couple like "staples" that would end up getting picked.

Rebirth seems to be a big staple in their setlists - which I'm happy about because it prefer it over most of the other staple songs like Nova Era and Carry On, etc.

That's probably a top 3 Angra song for me.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Voted por EPG as well, that song is :metal

I'm not even going to PP, but I still got excited and voted for my favorite songs anyway :lol

Like Kattoelox, I clicked on most of the Secret Garden songs, EPG and a couple from Holy Land :tup
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

Secret Garden was my first Angra album and Fabio is my favorite of the 3 Angra vocalists, so I definitely want more SG performed live ;D

Crushing Room wasn't on the poll, but now that Doro will be there, I wonder if they'll do it.

I'd rather hear that than any track from Aqua, and I'm not even a Doro fan. (I went back and tried to listen to Aqua today and... nope. Still sucks big time.)

bump.

anyone know anything about this documentary about Andre Matos?

it says coming on 9/14/21, but whether it actually got released seems questionable, but maybe it still?

I haven't followed very closely either, but I've enjoyed Temple of Shadows from the Falaschi era and I thought Secret Garden was really good.
