Tracklisting, description, and shit

The album is a fairly eclectic mix of tunes that I've written over the past few months. The styles range from blues to full-on thrash metal. It's one of the most varied albums I know. There's songs in major keys and minor keys. There's also a prog-esque suite, which contains the only song with vocals.

2. City in the Sky (4:15)
3. Vanilla Soup (3:34)
4. Life Cycle: I. The Color of Childhood (5:35) [lol major key]
5. Life Cycle: II. The Shock of Reality (9:15) [This song contains a 6 minute jam]
6. Life Cycle: III. The Will To Survive (3:54) [Contains vocals]
7. Through the Mist (3:37) [lol major key]
8. Journey to Arrhythmia (2:24)
9. Denim Obsession (4:12)
10. Rivers of Red (10:05) [lol big honking metal epic]

40th Edit: Yes. I did absolutely everything on this. The drums and bass were programmed. I actually played the guitar, and sang the vocals on track 6.

Could you describe the album? Give a synopsis of sorts. Maybe even give us the track listing with song lengths and stuff? You know... Make it sound interesting?

Well, intrumental music isn't my thing, so I will give it a shot. You seem like a cool dude who can play so it's worth a listen by me.

It's not just you. They're meant to flow into each other. Plus, I'm not a drummer, so I don't know what's considered a good drum beat. I programmed them using FL Studio 8.

Haha yeah, especially since it's between the two best songs on Awake. If it wasn't there Awake would go from 2nd favorite album, to still 2nd favorite but slightly more enjoyable.

I'm giving it a listen right now, and I think you've written some good stuff so far,but I think the production needs a little work. Lower a LOT of the treble sounds here, such as all of the drum cymbals, and please, PLEASE, add some bass pickup to your guitar! It sounds very tinny and it makes it really hard for me to hear what you're actually playing. What I can actually hear though sounds really cool, so please give your equalizing a look!

Seriously though, just cut your treble in half and double your bass, and this would sound so much fuller and bigger, and better.

Also, an old production trick is to double your rhythm sections, putting one in the left speaker, and the other in the right. Then keep your soloing guitars in the middle, producing a really huge and powerful sound. I suggest looking into it :-D

This was one of my first thoughts. I'm on Denim Obsession right now and its my favorite track so far. Journey to Arrthymia is also great and River of Red is pretty cool. I wasn't too interested in City in the Sky or the "prog suite". Through the Mist has a lot of potential, but is missing something. You've definitely got skill and talent. Keep it up!

Edit: Just downloaded it. It's something on your end. It works fine for me. Try downloading again maybe?
