« on: December 30, 2010, 07:55:14 PM »
Where do I start with these bands?  I bought the God of War: Blood & Metal ep from iTunes and really liked the songs on their by Killswitch Engage and Trivium, so I want to get more...

Thanks, guys!

Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

I'd say Daylight Dies is the best Killswitch Engage album.

Shogun and The Crusade are Trivium's only two good albums if you ask me. The Crusade is a very thrash influenced album, with minimal -core vocals compared to pseudo-Hetfield sounding vocals. Shogun takes that thrash influence, expands on it, adds the more -core sounding vocals with a fine mix of clean vocals. Both are great albums.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Hey now, Ascendency is pretty good too. Now Ember to Inferno, on the other hand...not so much.

I tried Ascendency several times, and it just never clicked with me. It's just not my style I guess. I also don't consider it to be all that good at all.

inb4 "DONT LISTEN"

Trivium's Shogun is pretty good. Never was big into Killswitch, but they're alright.

Alive or Just Breathing.

Shogun.
My love for Killswitch has been decreasing a lot these days, but I agree that AoJB is the best them. Shogun is awesome, specially because of its guitar work, as well as Ascendancy. The Crusade has very few good songs, IMO.

That.

Ascendancy is also good, but doesn't come close to these 2.

I'd say Daylight Dies is the best Killswitch Engage album.

This is the only one I've heard of theirs so far, but I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into that type of music.

I had a pretty big Metalcore-phase back in 2007, a lot of Trivium and KSE, now my interest for the genre is pretty low, i haven't even heard the latest KSE-album.
Trivium is easily my favorite out of the two bands, i'd say Shogun and Ascendancy are the best albums, but Ember to Inferno and The Crusade are both very good as well.
As for KSE, i'd say either Alive or Just Breathing, or The End of Heartache.

I am really enjoying both albums... I like Trivium better.  There were songs on Shogun that reminded me of a young Metallica... so, yeah, I like that one really well.

Anyone into older kse should check out adam d(kse) and jesse l(ex kse)'s new project times of grace.

Ascendancy is by far Trivium's best album.  It' one of my fav albums of all time.

Ascendancy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ember to Inferno >>>>> Crusade >> Shogun.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.
