I don't think I know the singer in the new teaser, sounds nice though.

Proud to tell you that the amazing Cammie Gilbert of Oceans of Slumber sings a lead role on the new Ayreon album Transitus! Here’s Cammie with a sweet message :-)

The video is only on Facebook as of this ppst. I'm sure it'll be up on his YouTube page shortly.

Re: Tommy Karevik, I think y'all are crazy. :P I'd put him in my top 5 among active singers. I do think he wasn't used to the best of his capabilities on the two Ayreon albums, though, so if that was someone's main exposure to him, I'd get it.

Arjen replied to a fan on his posy today saying the new album is just over 80 minutes long, so it'll be a double (of course). Perfect fit for a double vinyl LP, too, and im sure it's split evenly to fit the vinyl (just like TTOE was).
He also says that he is "extremely proud of the 5.1 mix!"

Dude's super talented. Hopefully he gets used a bit more moderately this time. I get that he has a god like range, but we don't need it every song.

No complaints from me either. The same with Tommy. Both of them have great voices.

Cammie is a nice surprise.

I don't remember if he said how many singers are on this album.

"extremely proud of the 5.1 mix!"

And here is the only part that matters. Frankly you don't need 2 CDs or 2 LPs when 1 blu-ray disc will blow them both out of the water.

Wow, so we already know half of the returning vocalists? I wonder who the other two might be, then.

Now, does the 10 include the narrator, or is he separate from the vocalist list? Either way, 6 new singers is a good amount. I'd be surprised if one of the other returning vocalists happens to be James LaBrie, who would also make his third appearance on an Ayreon album (like Mike and Tommy).

I don't wanna spoil anything for anybody, but Arjen is kinda cheekily confirming or un-confirming a lot of the guesses in the comments for each guessing game, if you're tired of waiting.

I spotted Arjen saying that preorders will go up next month. Even if they go up the last Friday of June, it seems like it could get released as early as late October. The Source pre-orders went up exactly 3 months ahead of its release date, and if Transitus is a horror-themed album, a Halloween-timed release would be more than appropriate.

A new one is up. Have no idea but the chatt is saying Paul Manzi. Never heard about him but he sounds great. It's fun discovering new singers and their bands.  :tup

I didn't recognize his voice at first but when I read his name I did. Marco gave me one of his main band's albums a while back and I loved it, time to go through the discography.

I've never taken the time to get into Ayreon. Where's a good place to start?

I'd suggest either Into The Electric Castle, which was their breakout album, or The Human Equation, which I always see as one of their more popular albums (and features James LaBrie).

Guitar guest sounds a bit SFAM-era Petrucci-ish to my ears, at least the initial part of the teaser, but I am bad at recognising guitar players.

It had a Petrucci vibe for sure. Kind of a mix of Petrucci and Lori Linstruth since I don't remember Petrucci using the whammy to such a heavy extent. It also didn't always feel like something he'd compose. But definitely a Petrucci vibe at times. Hmmm.

I guessed Petrucci, but I agree with the commenters that Satriani or Vai are more likely.
