Yeah.
As for the album, I only listened once, but it hasn't really clicked yet. Sure it all sounded nice, and Tommy's naturally sounding Khan impression was great for continuity, but the only song that is memorable so far is the single. It's nice to hear them go back to what their good at and not the Gothic boring shit though.
I'm much more enjoying Stone Sour's new album.
I'd mostly agree with that (especially the last line) after one listen - only a few songs stuck with me once I'd finished. However I've been listening more and even songs I didn't think much of the first couple of times seem much better now - I think it will take a few listens to get to grips with every song.
Sacrimony is great, I really enjoy Ashes To Ashes and Song For Jolee, but after a couple of listens my favourite song is probably Veritas, which I don't think I've ever even seen mentioned in any reviews of the album. The lyrics stood out to me straight away and it's one of my favourite of Tommy's vocal deliveries, even though it's not really showing off and it's not much like anything from Seventh Wonder. And the female vocal part in the middle is one of my favourite parts of the album.
And one issue I don't think I've seen mentioned is the production. I feel likesometimes the album should sound more powerful but it feels quiet and thin, (see the intro to Torn, Sacrimony). And at other times the opposite occurs (e.g. the chorus in Ashes To Ashes, which is otherwise one of my favourite parts, where the riff is really loud and it feels like the vocals should be higher in the mix). Maybe that's just me though.
