I'm glad it's finally official to be honest, although Khan did say that Youngblood told him to think about it for a while.  I wonder where Kamelot will go from here, really now, the only core members left are Grillo and Youngblood.

Grillo isn't even on the first 3 records.

I know, but Glenn is gone and Oliver I don't consider a big core part of the band so really besides Youngblood he's the only member that has been with the band a while and helped develop Kamelot's sound.

Fair enough. Thomas has always kept it going. But my interest in the band spawned from the collaboration of Thomas with Khan and the production duo of Paeth and Miro. They would really have to reinvent themselves with a new singer and ignite a new and exciting flame that I got the first time I heard Black Halo. Thomas seems to be aiming high for replacements. My honest wish would be to see someone like Mats Leven join. Completely different vocal style but still with a heavy emotional flair.

Gotta agree with pretty much all of that Myke.  I like Mats, that's a good option, great voice and excellent stage presence.  Or perhaps they could bring back Mark Vanderbilt.   :lol  We could finally hear songs like Black Tower, Red Sands and One of the Hunted again!!  :metal

I seriously hope they don't get someone who has the same style as Khan.

Also, Khan. Conception. Now.

I doubt if we'll see anything new from Khan for a long, long time.

I'm not so sad because their latest was terrible and Ghost opera was mediocre, but I wouldn't have minded seeing them live.

And thus goes the last power metal band I care about.

Sadly, the new record hasn't grown on me at all, probably due to all this bad news. I am actually anxious to hear a new record with new singer and hopefully they can produce something with more punch and passion. I need something on the level with Karma or Black Halo, and hopefully with some new twists courtesy of the new vocalist. Perhaps the dynamic of writing with the band will give us something new and exciting.

I have very mixed feeling with PFTP. It didn't really strike me at first, then it sort of grew on me for a while and then i just got tired of it and haven't listened to the full album since. I listen to a random song from it from time to time but never the full thing.

I remember my opinions and posting about it when I heard it, spewing my hate everywhere.  After time, it's gone from a shit album to a good album.  It's no where near Kamelot's best, but there are some enjoyable songs, and it has a nice atmosphere.  If you take it for what it is and not compare it to previous work, it's not too bad.

You know,  I think I fully agree with this ranking.

You should include the rest of the albums though.  Siege Perilous would be next, then Eternity, then Dominion.

Eternity's a pretty good album, some really good songs.  Black Tower is a Kamelot fav of mine.

Roy sang this at a wedding recently. What a voice. He needs to come  back to the music world.

Singer FABIO LIONE 'Would Love' To Join KAMELOT Permanently!!

https://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=159028

What do you think?  You think Thomas would ask him to join permanetely.  I guess the more they tour, the more likely that outcome.

Fabio has an outstanding voice. My only issue with him would be that his accent is REALLLLLLLLLLLLY thick when he sings, which works fine in Rhapsody, but I don't think it would work too well in Kamelot.

That's a fine point.  The clips I've heard of him have been very impressive, but agree with what your saying.  He's different to Roy, but that's certainly not a bad thing.  I guess if Thomas is happy and is eager to go back into the studio, Fabio might fit the bill.  Also, they could do some wonderful things with their music with Fabio's voice and range.

I agree, his voice is not a problem in the slightest, merely his accent.

He is a good singer, but I can't deny that I have a hard time hearing the band with anyone else. I would need to hear a new album with material from scratch geared towards whoever they choose to go forward with and then base the new lineup on the quality of that release and then the subsequent live performance.

NEW VOCALIST REVEALED - Tommy Karevik from Seventh Wonder.

https://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=175789

Tommy is simply an incredible singer, and I can't think of a better replacement for Roy. Fantastic choice by Kamelot. If you've never heard this guy sing, do yourself a favor and watch this.
