I think the tour started tonight (9/30). Well, even if it didn't, I feel like posting the setlist!

Pretty good, good chunk of new shit, love that they're playing words in the water, and phoenix ignition is a shocker. Downside: Only 1 song from Vheissu(

) Oh well, hope they play a good set in Chicago when I see them!

I did some poking around on the interwebs and it looks like they've been sticking to that set thus far. Wouldn't mind a few changes as the tour goes on but that's a damn fine setlist that I'd be happy to get when I see them in L.A. on 11/8. I am excite!

As of 10/4 there are 2 changes for the good, I think: They swapped Cataracts and The Whaler for Circles and Of Dust And Nations

I think they ALWAYS play "The Earth Will Shake." Makes me more sad that I can't see them this tour, esp. with Words In the Water, Cold Cash, The Weight, In Exile, Firebreather, Call it in the Air, and Anthology in the set.

I'm starting to think I might not be a Thrice fan

I love Beggars (top 10 album ever for me) and most of The Alchemy Index, but Vheissu and the new one are just OK for me. I'm not really a fan of his screamier vocals, what I love about Beggars is the softer vocal melodies and the calmer instrumentation.

I will give Vheissu and M/M a few more spins but I may have to settle for just Beggars and TAI

Interesting, for me it might be the other way around.
I really do like Beggars, which I don't think has a single bad song, but compared to the other Thrice-albums, I don't enjoy it nowhere near as much as I enjoy Vheissu, Major/Minor or The Alchemy Index.

And yeah, pretty sure Major/Minor is my AOTY so far. The only real competition it has is Bon Iver and WU LYF, and I think it just has those beat.

I believe it's considered one of the best pure post-hardcore albums out there. (from what I've seen from Sputnik's userbase and others)

Goddamit this album doesn't get old, it's the first album since Lateralus (one of my favourite albums of all time) that I just listen to, in full, every day, and I don't see that changing soon.

I really think this is my AOTY, I was worried that it didn't have the staying power but I've already played it more times than albums that I've owned for much longer and I still love it.

Also, the chorus of Anthology is SO EMOTIONAL.

IOTI is one of my least favourite songs on Vheissu.

I've only listened to it twice, but I like it. I'm not sure what I like about it because I can't remember any song names or any bits from the songs, but it really is good. Easier to get into than Beggars, but just as good so far (if not better)

To be honest it might move up to a five if it stays THIS GOOD for another few weeks, it's really not getting any worse and it's already one of my most played albums on LastFM.
