Any PC gamers play it yet? Thoughts?
I played COD4 on both xbox and PC, and i'm still not 100% certain which one I want to get (leaning towards PC, though)

I think I actually managed to over play this game today... between all the online, and multiplayer with my roommates, I probably have over 12 hours on it since launch. I'm putting the controller down for a while.

Yep. No one who bought the PC version, steam or physical copy, is able to play the game because it needs to run through steam, which still has it locked.

Ha! I suck at the MP - I've played too much Halo 3 and am not used to the 'quickness' of MW2 - sure I tried with cod4 but it didn't suck me in ala Halo - I think I will dedicate more time to this as the maps are really good.

When you get to the end of the ranking system, you can start over.

Basically it's extreme nerdage, seeing as you can do it up to ten times, and many do.

I did it like 3 or 4 times on CoD5.

And just to add even more shit to this entire thing, it looks like IW stole a bunch of source material from various Cod4 mods, namely the X4 mod:

So my copy came in the mail much earlier than expected, so I've been playing it quite a bit today. Almost done with the campaign, but I think I shall take a break from it for now. I haven't touched the multiplayer all that much yet, and my brother is hogging my xbox at the moment.

I do find it bullshit though that you can't be in party chat when in a team deathmatch game.

I did all 10 on CoD4...
There were prestige modes in CoD4? Or console only? I know there were in CoD5, I'm currently on prestige 3, it's a nice feature since it's possible to start again on the same profile after getting bored with having lvl65 and everything unlocked (at least I'm like that, having Brownings and stuff is fun, but after some time, I decide that it's fun to start just with the basic weapons and perks again).

As for the PC version news and the mod "inspiration", thank you to the person who invented this one: :lolpalm:

Stopping Power is awesome!! Martyrdom is now a deathstreak, if they kill you 4 straight time, THEN you released martyrdom and no Frag x3 either.

But, only one Claymore?!?! Come on!!!!


BTW, anyone else having problems trying to get into multiplayer? Now it doesn't even finish downloading all my settings and ranks!

I only ever used claymores when I'm sniping, which in my book is not camping. But looks like the 1.02 download has fucked up the multiplayer!

So far the multiplayer has been pretty bittersweet for me. While I like the overall new look of the game, and the gameplay is still rather fun, there is a good number of things that feels dumbed down or just plain unecessary. I also am disappoint that some of the weapons from CoD4 didn't make it into this one, such as the G36C.
