Just got back from seeing these guys, and. . . Wow, do they put on an amazing show! A great mix of new and old tunes, some well-placed jams, great flow, the crowd was way into it, my ears are still ringing. I know I can't be the only fan of this band here, so come out of the woodwork and discuss all that is Clutch.
HOLY MARY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!!  THIS is why LHK is the President of Awesome.

Why is everything you post the best thing ever said?  :lol

LHK is beyond EPIC.

I've become a fan of them over the past few years.  From Beale Street To Oblivion made my top 10 of 2007.  Elephant Riders is  :metal

If you like Clutch, check out the band Viking Skull.....

I have a few Viking Skull tracks from the Viva La Bands compilations, and they seemed like fine, upstanding tunes. I may need to track down an actual album or two in the future.

Clutch's opening act, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, kicked some serious ass as well. I impulse bought their two CDs (After impulse buying a few Capt'n & Cokes, I admit) before they even took the stage, and they definitely proved the purchase well worth the $20 I spent.

I love Clutch! They came by my hometown as a side band, and I missed seeing them, but I've become a huge fan since, up there with DT. Just really, really excellent grooves, great sound, I'd recommend them to anyone.

Good to see a Clutch thread!
I'm only a fan of about 8 months, but I've heard most of their stuff by now and they're apparently the second top artist on my last.fm somehow. I actually discovered them through The Bakerton Group (their instrumental alter-ego).

Favourites are Jam Room and Beale Street. I'm trying to ease my room-mate into them now too.

Big Clutch fan here, though I only know their later material Blast Tyrant and on. I've been slowly listening to their older material, starting with Elephant Riders.

Blast Tyrant is one of my favorite albums of all time. So many good songs on that. In fact, Blast Tyrant, Robot Hive/Exodus, and Beale St. is pretty awesome run of three albums.

Anyone else a bit disappointed with Strange Cousins From The West? I just couldn't find much to get into on it.

Strange Cousins was good, but seems sorta stripped down.

So little love for Clutch here.
Listening to the new album right now. Can't give first impressions yet, need to give it 2-4 listens.

Wait, what, new album?! Wow, will check it out! Earth Rocker was fantastic, one of their best in my opinion.

Also, a badass live clip from this year's Download festival: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ip_-uCPCV_o  Great festival band. ;D  Neil sounds great here.

The only album of theirs I had until about 2 weeks ago was Strange Cousins from the West. Literally just listening to Psychic Warfare as I borrowed it from a friend. Didn't even realise it was a new album of theirs. This is WAY more up my alley than SCftW. I wasn't exactly blown away by that album but after one listen to their latest I'm definitely going to delve. Some really good shit!!

This thread has also reminded me of Viking Skull  ;D  I had a song by them years ago off some compilation and I LOVED it. Pretty sure they have split up but going to try and get some of their albums  :metal

I didn't know we had a Clutch thread here, so here's my review of their new album: https://www.sonicperspectives.com/album-reviews/clutch-book-of-bad-decisions/

And I'll probably interview them in the next few days, so let me know if you have any questions for them!

it is a fantastic album, might just be my album of the year. Only problem with it is, once you hear that horn section on "In Walks Barberella" you realise that every other song on the album needs a kick-ass horn section too!
Love the way these guys consistently turn it up to 11 and leave it there.

:lol It does work so well. There's something about their rhythmical side that is just magical for me. JPs drumming drumming and Neil's vocals particularly, but the whole band is just ON IT rhythmically. And they're FUN!

Yes, indeed! It's a good one. Concise, groovy, unmistakably Clutch, and yet bringing in some new-ish elements too...

Fantastic. They're over here just before xmas and it's not usually a time I'm up for going out to London, for some reason.

New album ain't bad. I'll need to give it a few more listens if I can squeeze it in.

I've probably listened to most of their back catalogue at this point but the only one that I REALLY like is Psychic Warfare. That album really is a banger.

Also, how has this thread only got one page, that's criminal!

New album sounds good, have to listen to it more.

The previous one did not grab my attention that much. My fave Clutch albums are Robot Hive, Blast Tyrant, and Earth Rocker.

I recently bought the two vinyl collectors series releases of Blast Tyrant and Robot Hive and those are awesome releases.
