Another echelon of bacon epicness was reached today in my kitchen.  Got a salmon served over an oyster mushroom risotto, and made a warm bacon and apple cider vinaigrette for the sauce.  With hints of honey and whole grain mustard, it was pretty fucking awesome. :metal

So my boss today made some candied bacon.  He took the bacon strips and slow cooked them in the oven while brushing them with a maple syrup-chipotle glaze, until the bacon was cooked and the glaze crystalized.  Awesome.  Were thinking of giving some to our pastry chef and having her dice it up and fold it into housemade blackberry ice cream, or making some candied bacon doughnuts.  Thats right, envy me.

OK, just to be an asshole, My boss and I were speculating other concotions with the candied bacon, and one of the best was an eggs benedict dessert, with a sugar drop biscuit as the bread, the candied bacon, a fried quail egg, topped with a vanilla creme anglaise. :drool:

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I have returned briefly to say that I worked out this morning and for some strange reason my sweat smells like bacon.  It's incredibly weird but I'm not complaining.
