Yeah the song is def growing on me  :metal

krands85

Sounds good  :metal

Hope they come back to Glasgow on the tour for this album. Their last show here was immense, probably my favourite gig ever.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

That was sufficiently badass; I wasn't blown away, but I've never been blown away by Deftones' singles before. Diamond Eyes (song) and Rocket Skates both had me thinking 'meh' and I ended up loving the album, so the fact I like this song at all is a very good sign. It's a bit samey, but once again, I thought the same about Skates (though even moreso, and it's still at the bottom of my Diamond Eyes rankings). Anticipating the release.

So I listened to White Pony and I liked it a heck of a lot more than I liked Diamond Eyes.  I'll check out the new stuff as well.

New album cover reminds me of Saturday Night Wrist.

OsMosis2259

Heard the two released tracks which are great!

I'll wait until the album comes out to hear the whole thing. I heard the first few seconds of that samples video and the quality was very weak so I stopped it.

I'm almost finished streaming for the first time... This album has balls. Big, hairy balls. And I would just love to...listen to them some more. Definitely going to need to pre-order this soon so I can start spinning this mofo. It's all awesome. I didn't really think there was a track I thought was bad, and there are some songs that certainly stand out more than others (Goon Squad, Rosemary..a couple others I can't think the name of cause I'm in a library and about to leave), but hardly any down portions of this album.

:metal

Listened through three times so far. It's sounding pretty damn good already and it usually takes me a good 5-10 listens of an album before I can really get into it and judge it properly. Tempest and Leathers are the standouts for me so far, but I've listened to them both a lot more obviously since they were released earlier.

Some awesome riffs, can't wait to hear some of this stuff live in 3 months time  :coolio
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

adace

Rosemary is one of the best songs ever.

Silver Tears

Listening now, this is really good so far!

OsMosis2259

Not as immediate/direct sounding as Diamond Eyes so this def needs a lot of listens.

Perpetual Change

This is pretty good. Not as good as Diamond Eyes (and kinda sounds like it could be b-sides from Diamond Eyes), but it's still pretty decent. At this point, I'd say it's either a grower or a one of those decent-yet-forgettable albums.

TioJorge

I am loving this album more and more. There's one or two songs that I don't like as much as the others (Swerve City hasn't really clicked with me. Yet?), but overall there aren't many times I wasn't completely encompassed and enamored by this music. I really love Romantic Dreams and Poltergeist as well, really interesting tunes. The band has certainly evolved their sound and come into their own over the years. Having been through the album a few times now, I'm happy to say this album will grow on me even more.

P.S. More Romantic Dreams  :heart Mm. Yummy stuff.

PixelDream

What immediately surfaces is the positive vibe, just like on Diamond Eyes. Chino 2012 sings like a mofo, and the riffs are heavier than ever. Great songs. Great production. I can't find a fault with this record, and it might even surpass Diamond Eyes for me.

Well, I think Entombed my be one of my favorite songs of the year. Its been stuck in my head for days.

Overall I like the new album a lot and think its a solid addition to the Deftones discography.

Perpetual Change

I'd give this a solid 7/10.

Zantera

Nel_Annette

Bought it. Beginning was a bit filler-feeling but Graphic Nature and Tempest are kicking my ass.

Zantera

I think the first 5 song-run is so epic. "Entombed" and "Poltergeist" in particular really kicks my ass. Second half of the album is not quite as good for me, but still very solid. "Tempest" is really cool, some other sweet tracks as well.

Nel_Annette

Well, I think the second half is fantastic, but overall this is another solid album by them. I'm satisfied.

OsMosis2259

I prefer the second half of the album. Tempest-Gauze-Rosemary is just godly.

Great album overall

I've been listening to the new album non-stop the past week and the only two tracks which are just so-so for me are Graphic nature and goon squad. The album is around 52 minutes, so I think there was room to trim it down a little, but luckily Itunes lets me trim it down myself. Even the first 2 tracks have grown on me and I pretty much love all the rest.

Amen to that.  That 3 song run in incredible and I also love Leathers-Poltergeist-Entombed, with Entombed being my favorite song on the album.

I still think Diamond Eyes is a better album, since I love every song from beginning to end, but the new album is still pretty decent and I constantly want to keep listening to it.

krands85

Not long to go until they start their European tour now. Seeing them in Glasgow on Friday night, can't wait!  :metal
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

Zantera

I wish they would come here, but they aren't. :(

OsMosis2259

Diamond Eyes or Koi No Yokan?

GO!

I'm going with Diamond Eyes. It just melts my face :metal

There seems to be a lot more going on musically in Koi though. I also love all the subtle textures/layers that are added in and Tempest is probably my favorite song out out of all the songs from Diamond Eyes and Koi.

Zantera

It's impossible to pick for me. I know Koi a bit better and it was my first Deftones album, so maybe that one. Diamond Eyes is not far behind though.

krands85

Definitely Koi No Yokan for me - the standout tracks (eg. Tempest and Leathers) are much better than anything on Diamond Eyes for me.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

WebRaider

Koi is good but Diamond Eyes is Godly! :metal
