If you like those cd's, you should check out Maiden's rare live cd from 88- "Maiden England".  I just bought it and it's fantastic

I love SiT except for the last two tracks.  Never could get into all of SSOASS, though it does have some awesome songs.

I have been able to get into all of Maiden's cd's; some take a little longer then other's though.  I even really enjoy the Blaze albums.  However, I didn't really get into them until I started listening more to his solo and Wolfsbane material; then it just clicked more.

Alexander the Great is my favourite Maiden epic.  You should give it another try? :lol

TXF dragged on too much for me, and the clean guitars in like every song became repetitive too. Other than that it's an ok album. Nothing special. Can't wait to hear Brave New World.

I found AMOLAD grew on me quicker then TFF.  However, I would love for Maiden to release another album with shorter, faster songs; similar to their 80's albums.  But regardless, I still love them all
Well, that's what makes TFF so special. Half the album does contain songs like that. And Angel Of Mercy and Coming Home are both spectacular. Although, Maiden was never really known for having "fast" songs.

would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Had a listen through most of TFF last night.  I have to say, the award for best guitarist is spread pretty evenly on this album.

Janick has some tasty, well phrased solo's, a welcome change from his usual wankery :P

Davey is just Davey, awesome, well phrased shred

H is a guitar master, really isn't he?  His use of chorus and clean combined with the sparseness of his solo's in songs like Isle of Avalon really hark back to his SiT/SSoaSS tone.  So good!  There's a interview with Bruce on Flight 666 where he says that Adrian is 'able to pick notes out of the ether' or something along those lines.  That definitely shows on this album.

Pretty impressed with everyone's solo's on this one.  I haven't listened to the last two tracks again, but I'm liking it better this time around.  Isle of Avalon is probably my favourite.  I love the 7/8 section.  The beginning of The Talisman is sooo bad :lol.

I might listen to The Final Frontier tonight... haven't heard it in a while. Surprisingly, this album didn't get played to death by me, despite it being Iron Maiden's first studio release since I became a fan. Nevermore's and Exodus' provided very strong competition last year for best metal album, and I hate to say it but they may have won. I still love the album though.

Been listening to AMOLAD and TFF all day today.  The lack of mastering on AMOLAD is really noticable when comparing the two, and really cool.

EDIT: Listening to BNW now, I'm gonna go through the reunion albums chronologically tonight.  At The Nomad now.  BNW is such a brilliant album, probably the best produced out of the reunion bunch.  Hearing Adrian's solos makes me smile.

DOUBLE EDIT:  Never noticed the segue from Nomad to Silent Planet.  Cool!

I would say out of the reunion albums, BNW is the best overall.  I enjoy all of them, but it seems that BNW is the one that I will grab far more often.  "Wicker Man" kicks!!  Plus love the title track alot

At the end of DOD now.  Great album.  Production isn't as great as BNW.  The distinction between the three guitars in more obvious in terms of where they sit in the mix.  Nicko's drums don't sound as nice as BNW's though.

Yeah, BNW is my favourite by far.  Song writing, solo's, production... its all there.  My only gripe is not enough Adrian input.  The thing DOD has over BNW is that it contains some Smith gems.  Paschendale, anyone?

Oh yeah, and how hilarious is the end part of Thin Line Between Love and Hate on BNW?  I laughed out loud.  Never gets old...

This is one of the biggest things I noticed, Janick rips on this one.  He does great solos like he did back on FOTD and TXF, great stuff.

Say that when you're only feet away from him and he props his leg up on an amp.

My face was only feet away from his junk.

I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

He's certainly the most active member to watch live.  I just wish he'd put more effort into his solos.

Hawt.

Anyway, watched Maiden England today and was once again reminded about the greatness of the Seventh Son record. It's easily one of my favorite albums of all time!

I don't like Maiden England.  The performances (sans Steve) are uninspired and the sound sucks.

But, but, Adrians mullet!!??!

To be honest, I think its just the nostalgia attack I get from watching/hearing it that makes me love it so much.  Reminds me of the good old days of being the only 8 year old I knew blasting Maiden VHS's :lol

You can tell the band are tired on Maiden England, especially Bruce, he sounds stuffed.  But when I picked up that VHS man I wore it out, still an amazing concert.

Janick's most important contributions are the riffs. He's written some of the band's best stuff since he joined.

I actually think Janick is the best songwriter in the last 10 years - every song he's written is an absolute killer, not a stinker in the bunch.  :metal

Jannick's biggest contribution is his attutude, personality, and chemistry. He had a huge impact on the band's dynamic when he joined, when the band clearly needed some "loosening up". I believe he's vitally important to the bend, even today. Could they get by without him, sure, but Steve not only kept him, but he's maintained his "side" of the stage where Adrian used to roam. I think the band, and Steve, really "get" what Jannick brings. He also showed great chemistry on with Bruce on the Tatooed Millionaire tour.
