What's wrong with Piece of Mind?

Die With Your Boots On. Yuck.

:omg:  That's a fantastic song.  Classic H solo.
'CAUSE IF YOU'RE GONNA DIEEEE (If you're gonna die... you're gonna die), IF YOU'RE GONNA DIE (If you're gonna die), IF YOU'RE GONNA DIIIIIEEEEEEEEE

IF YOU'RE GONNA DIE
DIE WITH YOUR BOOTS ON
IF YOU'RE GONNA TRY
WELL, STICK AROUND
GONNA CRY, JUST MOVE ALONG
IF YOU'RE GONNA DIE, YOU'RE GONNA DIE GONNA DIE
DIE WITH YOUR BOOTS ON
:birch: :birch: :birch:

I've never been a huge fan of that song neither, to be honest with you. I've always liked Still life and Sun and steel better, when it comes to tracks from Piece of mind.

Does not compute.  Those are my other two "filler" tracks from PoM along with QFF.  DWYBO is great.

I don't understand how on a DT message board, synths are a problem in a metal band.

I didn't say it was a problem. I just meant, if you take the synths out of the song, stylistically it would fit on Piece of Mind. Obviously with synths still in it, it wouldn't fit on Piece of Mind. I love maiden's keys, though.

Wasn't talking to you. I saw a post higher up complaining about synths on SiT.

That would be me. I don't have an issue with synths normally, but they bug the fuck out of me on SiT. Maybe its the production, or just how they are used on a lot of songs, but its a turnoff, personally.

And Die With Your Boots On is a fucking classic.

The synths are way more prevalent on 7th Son. You like the sound of them better on that album?

Anyway..all this has led me to come home and watch a SiT DVD. My single greatest "holy f##k" moment in my concert going history was on that tour, when busted into Phantom Of the Opera.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Just because a song wasn't on the radio doesn't mean its filler. Still Life and Sun and Steel are far from filler... Especially Still Life.

Yeah, I'm on a Dream Theater forum talking about Iron Maiden because I only listen to what's on the radio.

I think Bruce's range on the next line somewhat makes up for it....well....almost.

I think "Quest For Fire" and "Sun And Steel" are good tracks, but there's an obvious drop-off in quality during the second half of the album, until "To Tame A Land".

Sun and Steel is a great track. Don't you go lumping it together with Quest for Fire.  >:(

This may be controversial, but if i would list my top5 Maiden songs, it would look something like this:
1. The Legacy
2. Powerslave
3. Starblind
4. The Clansman
5. Dance of Death

Honorable mentions to:
Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Phantom of the Opera & Killers.

I see no problem except I would say its too early for Starblind to crack into anyone's top IM songs.  Maybe its just me, but its not even on the top half of TFF.

Great songs.  Powerslave is my all-time favorite Maiden song, so props for putting it that high, even if its below the overrated (but still awesome) Legacy.

Starblind is easily the best on TFF.  It would at least be in my top 15 already.  It's pure magic!

Its a very good song, and the whole Celtic feel is cool, but like Stonehedge, it feels kind of silly even for Maiden.  Especially with the lines: "AND I DANCED AND I PRANCED"
