Am I the only who who thinks there is some filler on every single IM album?
No filler, just some lesser good tracks. But some albums like Somewhere in time and Seventh son of a seventh son don't even have a lesser good song. As for fillers, some can be found on Fear of the dark, Killers, and maybe The Final Frontier, with Starblind being a song I don't think was really necessary.

Nope.  I've said that a couple times now too.  Powerslave and AMOLAD are the closest to no-filler Maiden.

TLOTLDR is one of the few songs from SiT I'd rank really highly.

Still not really feeling TFF, but I still think its cool to see Iron Maiden in the Billboard 200's top 5 for the first time ever

I think the Talisman could easily be my favorite track on the album, but the guitar solo section is weak. I think they could have done a more melodic and epic type solo signifying a ship fighting the rough seas with determination! Still a fantastic song though, and the whole album gets better with each listen. I love music like that!!

No song that begins with the lines, "The demon in your mind will rape you in your bed at night." can be considered filler. Jesus.
Funny thing.  A good friend of mine just commented on that line a couple of days ago.  It had kind of slipped beneath both of our respective radars.

I would just like the say The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner is highly underrated and contains some of Bruce's best vocal moments in his career with Maiden.

Fuck everyone else.

Worst song on the album.
Worse than 'Heaven Can Wait?' Wtf?

TLotLDR is a great, great tune. "Caught Somewhere In Time" is easily my favorite from the album though.

Still not feeling TFF much after 3 listens or so. Very few of the songs are really jumping out at me atm.

As awesome as Somewhere in Time is, Heaven Can Wait is the only reason it can't be called an absolute masterpiece.

One line redeems a song from being filler?  Pffffffftttt.  Its pretty crap compared to everything else on the album.

I love "Only the Good Die Young."  Badass solos, and the verses are really cool.

FAIL

Only the Good Die Young is an awesome track, and definitely in my top 50 IM songs. Very few songs from SSoaSS would be outside of my top 50 though.

I'd rank the 7th Son tracks like this:

1. Infinite Dreams
2. Seventh Son
3. Moonchild
4. The Prophecy
5. The Evil That Men Do
6. Only The Good Die Young
7. The Clairvoyant
8. Can I Play With Madness
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Glad you have The Prophecy rated so highly. :tup

The title track has really aged well for me. I like it loads more than I did in 1988.

This. It's really too bad that it brings the overall album down so far. If it didn't have synths, it would almost sound like it would belong on Piece of Mind, I think.

I listened to No Prayer today. Obviously it's a subpar Maiden album, but once you get over that, I really enjoy listening to at least half of it.

I didn't say it was a problem. I just meant, if you take the synths out of the song, stylistically it would fit on Piece of Mind. Obviously with synths still in it, it wouldn't fit on Piece of Mind. I love maiden's keys, though.

That weird TAC.  I was talking to my wife today about No Prayer and Fear of the Dark and how I never bought the 2 cd's they did with Blaze. I need to get those two.  They are the only two I don't own.

Who is picking on Piece Of Mind?

They're both very worth it..even though there's tons of filler on both. Fear is definitely better.

I'm of the opinion that No Prayer is far superior.  No Prayer is a mediocre album, but its quality is relatively even; no songs that are really good, but no songs that are really bad.  Fear has a couple gems, and then about 5 or 6 of the worst songs Maiden ever wrote.

The irony is, I think that their two worst albums (Fear and Virtual XI) both are in their top 4 concerning guitar work (along with pariah Dance of Death and the sublime Somewhere in Time).

Fear of the Dark is probably their best album regarding guitar work, besides SIT.  Dave and Janick just fucking slay all the way through FOTD.  Even crappier tracks like Weekend Warrior has the most amazing guitar solos from both guitarists.
