Interesting that I seem to be the only one who noticed AMOLAD being ranked almost last...

As for FOTD, it IS a very mediocre album; but strangely, I seem to like the songs that get much flak by other Maiden fans, like Weekend Warrior, The Apparition, Childhood's End? and Wasting Love.
... And you ask me: "Where's my hairspray?"

I love Childhood's End (Epic intro is epic) and Wasting Love honestly isn't a bad song.

And AMOLAD being last is  >:(
Its my #4, honestly. I love that album.

Childhood's End is highly underrated.

AMOLAD is awesome. See OP!

Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

AMOLAD is such an awesome album. I've been listening to it a lot today, and I was so emotionally moved by some of the lyrics. And Bruce sounds truly remarkable, especially on Lord of light.

I know a lot of people hate it, but I LOVE Breeg. The way the main riff comes in is just so badass and Bruce's final "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL" at the end is so awesome.

Really, I don't dislike any song on the album, but The Pilgrim might be the weakest one on there.

And anyone that doesn't like Nicko's drum solo's on The Longest Day has no soul.

How could anyone hate Breeg? That riff is so  :metal :metal :metal.

I've seen a lot of hate for it. Granted, it sounds like Maiden aping Black Sabbath. But since when is anyone aping Black Sabbath a bad thing?

I've always liked Maiden, but I never really got into them until recently. After seeing them in concert (with Dream Theater opening) I decided these guys are worthy!
This may sound strange, but the first two cd's I bought are "Dance of Death" and "Brave New World" and I love em both, I can't get enough of either one of them!!  I think I like Dance Of Death slightly more, as the title track is awesome and Paschendale is freaking mindblowing. When they go back into the chorus after the jam session ( home, far away, from the war, a chance to live again) I get chills every time. It is so powerful!
Can any of you recommend what album to buy next? I have Killers, Number of The beast, and Piece of mind on vinyl, but my record player doesn't work. I'm really liking the post 2000 era of Iron Maiden, but I know there is much more I need to hear. I can't believe they've gone over my head all these years!

If you liked those two then you need to hear A Matter of Life and Death. If you like DT and Prog, then you'd probably like Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, seeing as it's their "proggiest" album. Also I'd get Powerslave and Somewhere in Time also, because they are just insanely amazing albums.

You should get them all, but maybe leave the 90s albums for some later days. Their first 7 records are ALL essential, so you can't go wrong with those. Also, you'll probably enjoy A Matter of life and death.

Why am I not feeling excited about this release?  El Dorado was pretty average, I must say.  And the video for TFF was cheesier than Rhapsody of Fire on pizza.  I'm worried that this is going to be the weakest of the reunion albums...  I really hope I'm wrong.

I tend to agree with you.  The last three I was stoked about and counting down the days.  At the moment, I'm not really excited at all, and that surprises me.  Hopefully the whole album will kick my ass back into place.

After hearing some of the 30 second samples just now, I can officially say I'm excited about this album :caffeine:

Opinions just form the samples.

Satellite 15 reminded of the Imperial March or something.

Mother of Mercy sounded like a Bruce solo song, which is a good thing.

Coming Home sounded like a Bruce style song also.

About time we got something speedy with The Alchemist.  Sounds like Silver Wings.

Avalon is generic recycled Maiden.

Not much to judge for Starblind.

Is that the Talisman or The Legacy??

The Man Who Would Be King sounds quite atmospheric and fresh.  Looking forward to this one.

Dance of Death closes the album.

Starblind sounds like the worst one out of all of them.  Looking forward to The Alchemist, Mother of Mercy, The Man Who Would Be King, When the Wild Wind Blows, and Isle of Avalon.  Satellite 15 sounds cool, but The Final Frontier is one of the weakest Maiden openings.  Maybe the edit took out some key parts or something.  Still looking forward to it, but theres a possibility it will be the weakest of the reunion albums.

I loved TFF and El Dorado, but the samples ain't that promising. Some of them sound like Dickinson's solo stuff. The last two tracks could be good, and I'm looking forward to The Alchemist, since it's probably the fastest Iron Maiden song since Man on the edge.  :metal

Really with the length of the songs, it's impossible to get a proper judgement from 30 second clips.  As it has been stated before, it does give me a big BD solo feel, which really isn't a bad thing.
