The essential albums, in chronological order

Killers
Hell no! I mean, it's decent enough, but nowhere near essential. Their debut is more interesting, more original (at the time) and more influential.

My top 5 (in order):

Powerslave
Brave New World
Seventh Son
Number of the Beast
Iron Maiden

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.
I be am boner inducing.

Seeing Flight 666 in the cinema was spectacular! The sound and picture quality was incredible and the atmosphere was comparable to that of a Maiden show.

I love them. I grew up listening to them and they've taught me so much about music as well as work ethics and mentality. I have nothing but utter respect for them. :metal

Yes!  I cannot wait to hear Maiden through an awesome cinema sound system!  Will have to go a few times to soak it up methinks.

And yes definately Maiden's (Steve's) work ethic is second to none, true working class heroes.

I saw them twice in concert.  SSoaSS and BNW.  Probably the best live band I've ever seen from a sound and production standpoint.

At the BNW show, it was outside and we were back pretty far.  It sounded pretty damn good.  I think where you sit has a lot to do with it depending on the venue.

Yeah.  I would love to be able to see them a bunch of times and try different seating positions just to get an awesome sound.  But seeing as last time i saw them was their first time here in 16 years, i thought the only reasonable response was to thrash out in the pit.

Went to see them at:

Ozzfest 2005 during the Early Years Tour at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ (where I live and got to hear Bruce say "Scream for me Holmdel!!!"
AMOLAD Tour (2008) at the Izod Center (it was Continental Airlines arena at that time) in New Jersey.
First Leg of Somewhere Back in Time Tour (2008) at the Izod Center (had VIP Ga tickets so I was right in front of Dave Murray)
Second Leg of Somewhere Back in Time Tour (2008) at Madison Square Garden and won the Heaven Can Wait contest in the fan club to get to come on stage during part of Heaven Can Wait.

Seemed like each time got better as I've seen them.  My favorite band of all time.

I always wondered how that worked.  Do you get to watch the show from the side stage or do they just round you up before the song?  It also seems like Bruce tries to stay far away during that portion of the show.  Did they warn you not to go near him?  I went backstage to a Maiden show many years ago and he was pretty aloof then.

I don't recall the details of how, but my cousin was well connected and got me tickets for a lot of shows.  World Slavery just included a couple of passes.  Only Nicko and Bruce came out.  Nicko spent his time drinking Jim Beam and doing drops for Redbeard.  Bruce worked the autograph line and split.  The actual nice guy was Chris Holmes from WASP.  When we got there, we grabbed beers and sat at a table with two hot groupy chicks (the fishnet wearing types).  We were 14 so they were totally out of our league but we didn't care.  Chris Holmes walks in to retrieve them because they were in the wrong meet and greet room.  Stopped and talked cordially with us for a minute.  In retrospect, I think I would have rather had passes to WASP's after show gettogether.  That was probably a much better party.

One of my biggest regrets to this day is that I didn't get a picture of myself next to the giant mummified head of Eddy.  We went over and checked it out. It was as tall as I was back then.  Being kids, we figured whipping a camera out would have gotten us into trouble.

You should've at least gotten pics with the chicks! :lol

That's cool. Chris Holmes was pretty wild. I loved WASP's 1st 3 albums. I kind of lost interest in them after that. They're one of the few 80's bands that I never saw live.

You meet up on the side of the stage before a certain song and then wait until HCW starts and then some guy leads you to the backstage and opens the curtain to run on at the right time.  We were told to stay by one spot, but Bruce was actually around for this and someone slapped his ass.  I got right next to Steve Harris.

Saw Flight 666 last night.  Oh Boy.....

I was smiling in my pants right from the opening punch of Aces High! Hi-Def made it so you could see the sweat dripping off the heads of everyone involved.  So crisp and clear!  So powah!  So energy!!  I HIGHLY reccomend any Maiden fan to check this out, theres only a 1-week run in my city so i'm gonna have to go again in the next week.  Anyone else seen it?  Glorious!
