So according to some people on the IM fan board, Nicko leaked that the new album is set to come out in September and the tour will consist mostly of songs off the last 4 albums.  Now, Im not really sure if he means the last three albums plus the new one, or the last three plus the newest "best of" or the literally the last four albums (V11).

That's an odd statement.  My best guess is that he means the last four albums including the new one, although they'll will definitely only play one song from it.  It's pretty unlikely that he included VXI in that.  Plus, since they've undoubtedly already recorded the new album, it actually is the last one to him even though we haven't heard it.

I wouldn't be surprised though to see Futureal or (especially) The Clansman make a comeback.

Since they're planning on doing more songs from the more recent albums, I'd love to see "The Wicker Man" make a comeback.

I actually think that makes the most sense for the opener, if not then Different World.  I can see the following being the setlist:

Wicker Man
Rain Maker
The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
The Trooper
A Brave New World
Dance of Death
The Clansman
The Number of the Beast
The Mercenary
For The Greater Good of God
Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden

Encore:
Different World
Run to the Hills
Hallowed Be Thy Name

Songs I NEED to see (as I've only been to Early Days, AMOLAD, and SBIT Tours) before I die. I've already seen all of their big hits and popular songs, but these I still want to hear!

The Wickerman
Brave New World
Rainmaker
Dance of Death
Paschendale
Dream of Mirrors
Afraid to Shoot Strangers
Be Quick or Be Dead
Hooks in You (it's fun!)
To Tame a Land
Lord of the Flies
The Clansman
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Stranger in a Strange Land
Alexander the Great

Scard, I've only been to the same tours as you and really wish to see the same songs (minus Hooks in You, I can pass on that), but I don't expect to see a lot of those songs to ever get played again or at all in the case of ATG.

Replace DoD with Paschendale and The Mercenary with Ghost of the Navigator or The Thin Line, and add something like Powerslave instead of FOTD and you've got a deal.

OK, I'll have to give this a shot...

1. The Wicker man
2. The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
3. Brave new world
4. Blood brothers
5. The Trooper
6. Sign of the cross
7. Brighter than a thousand suns
8. Rainmaker
9. Wildest dreams
10. Hallowed be thy name
11. Fear of the dark
12. Iron Maiden
- - - - -
13. The Number of the beast

An hour and a half set, just like they said... And somewhat realistic.  ;D

Anyone who's interested...Bruce is doing his last night hosting the Friday Night Rock Show right now on BBCRadio 6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00sj689

I'm hoping for a snippet of the new album. He also mentioned he's doing an tribute to Dio later on. Should be awesome!

They're only playing an hour and a half?

From my experience, they usually play for an hour 45 to 2 hours including the break for the encore.

The essential albums, in chronological order

Killers
Piece of Mind
Powerslave
Somewhere in Time
Brave New World
A Matter of Life and Death

Nick I know this post is over a year old, but I'd still love to hear your reasoning as to why Number of the Beast isn't essential.

Frankly you can get albums that are better than TNotB from both eras is bridges between. Specifically Killers and Piece of Mind.

Except for the fact that Number of the Beast is way better than Killers.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Listening to Somewhere In Time, but the waveform doesn't look and feel like Powerslave or Piece Of Mind, sounds like a late nineties remaster. But anyway! It's pretty cool thus far, on to track 2...

I bought all the 1998 remasters first as they were the only ones I could find in local record stores. I made the mistake of buying the original Somewhere In Time CD pressing and now have to buy them all over again. :lol

The originals do sound fantastic though! :tup
