River of no Return is an amazing song.

Hear, hear.

Fuck, now I want to do a Bruce Dickinson top 25 so I can express my love for his work.

I would follow sans-pants. :)

Chemical Wedding is a fucking masterpiece. It still blows me away. Every song kicks ass. It's easily in my top 20 favorite albums of all time. I'd honestly say it's up there with the best Maiden albums.

So my last.fm has 665 plays of Iron Maiden.  I cannot allow myself to scrobble any more tracks.  It would be fitting for that last song to be TNOTB, but I'm gonna go with Powerslave.

Shouldn't there be an album release date soon?

There has been a leak of an album release date (on an internet music store, can't remember which one) which was August 27.  Makes sense to release it ahead of the European tour, so it's possible.

But not before the US tour?

Are they going to be playing songs from the new album?

I think I saw an interview with Bruce where he said they'd play one, a la Wildest Dreams in '03.

Yeah, US Tour -> Album -> Euro tour

And yes he said they'd play some new stuff (I'm guess around 3 songs AT MOST... probably 1 or 2).

i've been on a big time Maiden kick lately, working my way through the discography to get ready for the tour. anyway, i discovered one simple fact: "Lord of Light" is  :metal :metal :metal. i really want to see this one live.

what about the rest of you? got a particular song that you hope they bring out for this tour?

The Clansman
Sign of the Cross
The Aftermath
The Legacy
Killers
The Phantom of the Opera
Remember Tomorrow
Dance of Death

but none of them feels realistic :/

That's my favourite too. Awesome album, and the keyboards they introduced on that album really gave more depth to their sound.

Too true. I've been trying for ages to get Adrians solo on Wasted Years down but it's just so damn... Adrian!  He's in a league of his own, that man.

Less than a month away. Is it wrong that I am using this to remember my one year wedding anniversary is coming up as well (since it is 2 days before the concert?)

I’m pretty late to the Maiden party, and thus have only seen them once, in 2008, on the Somewhere Back in Time tour. So aside from the standard concert staples, I'm looking forward to seeing a slew of different songs live this time around.

If I could wish for anything, I'd love to see:

Phantom of the Opera
Children of the Damned
The Clansman
Dream of Mirrors
Lord of Light
No More Lies
Brighter than a Thousand Suns
The Legacy

Of course, they could just play Paschendale 10 straight times and I’d be a happy camper.

Lately I’ve been listening some Maiden that I haven’t listened to in a long time, and I’ve come to the conclusion I don’t care for SiT and SSoaSS as much as other Maiden-heads.  They are fine albums, they just don’t hit me the way they seem to with others based on comments I’ve read here and on the IM forum.

Chris, I think this will be one hell of a setlist, which makes missing this tour all the more sucky. I think of the songs you listed, you might see half of them.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Why are you missing it?

My guess why TAC is missing it is they are not playing N.E. and the closest to us is the MSG show.

Huh.  I just sort of assume that all bands play Boston.

I f##king damn well did as well! I could not believe that there was no Massachusetts show. I assumed Mansfield, where Maiden played in 08. Even Rod Smallwood said that is was one of the 3 best US crowds of the tour. I guess they're hitting different cities this time. Hopefully for the proper Final Frontier tour, we'll get them back here.
We got the next best thing..a DT club show!

It would have been cool to see DT and Maiden though.  My wife, who loves Maiden never saw them so I was bummed when there was no N.E. show.

Not that my wife likes either, but she enjoyed the Maiden show much more than DT. She can't stand James, so after the Maiden show she goes.."I like their singer (Bruce) much better than Dream Theater's. At least he looks like he's trying."
