Undecided between Dance of Death and A Matter of Life and Death, with Brave New World definitely being the lesser of the three.  But, really, if you buy three albums and can say that Brave New World is the weakest, that sounds like a win to me no matter what the other two are.  :lol

So, are you among those of us who think reunion Maiden is the best Maiden, maybe?

That's tough to say.  As of right now, I think I prefer reuinion Maiden over classic Maiden by a slight margin, but I'm not sure I'm quite ready to say reunion Maiden is "best."  Then again, maybe I'm just making a pointless distinction I really don't need to make.

And take this for what it's worth, but now having eight Maiden studio albums, I still think The Final Frontier is their best album they have ever put out.

I'm a classic Maiden guy. Brave New World is amazing, but they lost it again after that one. I just don't see what's so great about AMOLAD. 80s Maiden had its repetitiveness, but Reunion Maiden takes the cake.

Journeyman is a pretty nifty song.  I don't think it will make my top 25, but I like it.

I liked the novelty of it when it came out, being their only 100% acoustic song. But lately I don't listen to it a lot besides when I put on the whole album or Death On The Road. It's a nice song though.

Yeah, I liked what they were going for, and it is much better live, but I just don't think the song is that great.

Well, fine then...

And going back to Powerslave, Aces High is such a weak opener.  The song is awesome once the main riff kicks in, but the opening of the song is weak.  I think they should have either worked on the song opening to make it more bombastic like the rest of the song, or put an intro on it, or just opened with 2 Minutes instead.  Thankfully, once the song really gets going, you kinda forget about the opening anyway.  But still, for starting off an album, they could have gone a better direction, IMO.

Aces High turned me from a casual Maiden fan into a hardcore one so, suffice to say, I disagree. There's nothing weak about that song IMO.

Pretty much this. The first Maiden song I ever loved. It's still in my Top 5.

I will say that Aces High generally fails as an opener, at least these days. Since Maiden are pretty reknown for sounding like mud live, what should be a tense intro that goes into a bombastic release winds up being a nice, crisp intro that goes into a muddy, garbled mess.

I think its a great opener too.  Great way to get the crowd going berzerk; but then again, they would probably go crazy with any Maiden song opening the show.

 ???

I think IM sound great live. No mud when I've seen them 7 times. Also Aces High was a great opener for the SBiT tour butiI wasn't crazy about it as the encore for the ME tour.

Aces High is one of the best openers for an album and for a concert I can think of, and I can't fathom how anyone would think otherwise  :lol

I dunno, but I really hope they keep in Phantom of the Opera and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. I missed them when they played in Charlotte last year, so I've been really hoping to see them play those two songs when I see them in Raleigh.

Yeah, but they have swapped out songs for different legs, similar to what they did on the SBIT tour.
