I've only seen them once so the repetitive setlists don't really bother me that much. I can definitely see how some of you could be annoyed though.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

On that note, have they ever played Alexander the Great live?

No, because it apparently would have been "too complicated".

Some of those vocal melodies could be hard to do live I guess.

... too bad, I would have loved to see a live version of that song. Easily one of my favourites.

I remember being disappointed Alexander was not played on the original SiT your. When they carried over Rime, I was like WTF.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Yeah, and the SiT tour might have been one of my favorites but Alex really should've been played.

I mean, it's a disappointing setlist, but I'd still pay good money to see the band.  Hell, I'd pay top dollar to see this setlist;

Wildest Dreams
Quest For Fire
Weekend Warrior
Angel and the Gambler
Gates of Tomorrow
Holy Smoke
Another Life
Bring Your Daughter...to the Slaughter
Sun and Steel
El Dorado
Innocent Exile
The Apparition
Hooks in You
New Frontier
From Here to Eternity
The Number of the Beast
Iron Maiden

Running Free
Drifter
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Another "odd" song or two would have been cool. Big props for The Prisoner, SSOASS, Afraid to Shoot Strangers and Phantom of the Opera, but still, they could have added another weird pick IMO. :P

Any Maiden show is gonna be great no matter what they play.

I's just that their setlists seem to lack foresight, and the constant repeated songs are maddening, especially with respect to their live albums. Listening to En Vivo yesterday, and while it's an awesome CD as is,  The repeated songs that appear on recent live albums is nuts.

I really don't see why they need to play all of these following: Run to the Hills, The Number of the Beast, The Trooper, Fear of the Dark and 2 Minutes to Midnight.
And before someone tries to argue that one or two of these might have been switched/skipped over the last 5-6 tours, this is just a general point. They're all classics, but when you have a great catalogue it's a bit of a waste to play some songs all the time, since it takes away the spot for another song.

Anyhow, great to see them play Phantom. Some other songs in their catalogue that I think are underrated and should get played more often: Remember Tomorrow, Killers, Powerslave (I know they have played this one quite a bit lately, IMO it's possibly their best, should be played more), then also a few newer songs, but they seem to focus on older stuff now.

I'm probably the only one who likes Gates of Tomorrow.  :lol
Also, it's sad that Angel and the Gambler is so repetitive, I actually like the chorus and everything, but when it gets repeated 40 times it kinda drags it down overall.

The arena would riot the second they started playing Angel and the Gambler.  :lol

Lots of great stuff there!

Yeah, I actually don't mind 80% of the songs there, shows the strength of Maiden, would be an interesting show though.  :lol

Gates is alright, just nothing spectacular.  The edit version of Angel is incredible, the album version is disappointing.  They could play the edited version I reckon and get away with it.

Another Life was outstanding during the Early Days tour.  Drifter was great as an encore, as well.

My disgust with wolfie's S&M demo was mainly with Quest for Fire, Weekend Warrior, The Angel and the Gambler, Holy Smoke, Bring Your Daughter, Hooks in You, and From Here to Eternity. The rest of the songs range from acceptable to great.

Iron Maiden sure has an awful lot of awful songs. :lol

I've always found it interesting with all the hate for Bring Your Daughter. I'm not saying it's a good song, but before I got really into Maiden I was under the impression that it was one of their classics (though from another decade), and that fans generally liked it.
But I mean that kinds says it all about Maiden's early 90's doesn't it?  :lol

Hey, as I said, I really like 90% of those songs, I wouldn't even use a whole hand to count Maiden songs I actually dislike.  just trying to get my point across that no matter the setlist, I'd still pay to see them
