I wouldn't call Maiden prog in the slightest.

Neither would I. It takes a lot more than throwing some keyboards into the background and writing some long songs before you could label them as progressive. More experimental than your average metal band, certainly, but not full blown prog.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

I much prefer the proggy stuff... its been better than their shorter songs of late.

Virtual XI has been their last album that I like a lot.

But yes, Gates of Tomorrow, The Mercenary and The Pilgrim aren't anything special. Though I don't like songs, where three riffs are played over and over again for 8 minutes. It's not prog! I like their REAL progy stuff, like Sign of the Cross, To Tame a Land and Alexander the Great (356-323 B.C.).

It's not prog......... so?

I wouldn't call any Maiden album prog in the first place anyways.

They aren't prog. They have proggy songs, but not real prog.

I don't think Maiden qualifies as prog either, but a song like "The Legacy" for example feels like it might be influenced by some prog. And yeah, I don't think a song qualifies as prog just because it's long, Maiden is still very typical Heavy Metal for me, even if they have made longer songs on the last few albums.

I'M definitely are not a program band, but I think its safe to say they've always had some prog influence and have gotten proggie with age.

My spell check did that. I caught it the second time I typed prog. I'm still not used to this phone.

Yup and a nice "concert" as well. One of the best music DVD/blue rays one can by considering the price per overall product.

Flight 666 is awesome. It's great for people that aren't into Maiden. I've recommended it to many non fans who were very impressed.

The documentary on En Vivo is just as good, too.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Maiden releases a song pack to Rock Band.

https://legacy.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=174183

* "Phantom of the Opera"
* "The Prisoner"
* "Flight of Icarus"
* "Rime of the Ancient Mariner"
* "Infinite Dreams"
* "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son"

They're maybe playing the fucking Maiden England! (+Fear of the Dark, Brave New World, Dance of Death, El Dorado, When the Wild Wind Blows  :\)

Flight of Icarus is played the last time live in 1986!

Well this is only the second tour they've played it, but yes.  I think I actually saw on one of the documentaries that he picked it up at a sex shop.  Not sure what the connection is to Powerslave.  He probably just thinks it looks cool.

Not true. They played power slave on the 99 tour when Bruce and Adrian rejoined. I don't know if he wore the mask then.

I don't know what is confirmed since I haven't followed closely, but if they do go out on a "Maiden England 2.0"-tour, they really should skip out on a few songs they've been playing over and over the last 10 years.
Yeah I know people will scream "CLASSICS!" but this is Maiden we're talking about. Even if they don't play Run to the Hills, Number of the Beast, Fear of the Dark or Hallowed Be Thy Name, there are still plenty of golden songs to choose from. I don't think people will be disappointed if they bring out something unexpected instead of those songs. The Prisoner, Children of the Damned, Flight of Icarus (which is considered a classic by itself), To Tame a Land, or anything.

I know fans want to hear a few "classics", but my point is that Maiden has such a solid discography (especially the classics) and they could fill out those songs they always play with something just as good.  :metal

That '99 version is probably my fav version of the song.

I wish they'd do that but considering this is a NA tour, I don't expect them to not play the classics. I think the only gems will be seventh son and infinite dreams. I think the rest of the set will be classics and songs they did from somewhere back in time tour. I hope I'm wrong

Ed Hunter tour.  Forgot all about that.  Awesome show.  They were still reeling from the Blaze years, so they played a 3500 seat venue here.  Fantastic setlist.

And yes, he wore the mask.

They're billing this as one of their historic tours, and even in NA they were still pretty faithful to the original tours on those things.  I'm guessing they replace Still Life with one of the staples, and probably add 1 or 2 more.  They'll still lean heavily on SIT/SSoaSS, just as they did in '89.

His father died. I don't remember exactly how many dates he missed, or how long into the tour it was though.

Unfortunately Boston was one of the shows Adrian missed. What was great about the EH tour was that it was small theaters that they were playing, the Orpheum here.
This was our setlist:
Aces High
Wrathchild
The Trooper
2 Minutes To Midnight
The Clansman
Wasted Years
Kilers
Futureal
Man On The Edge
Powerslave
Phantom Of The Opera
The Evil That Men Do
Fear Of The Dark
Iron Maiden
The Number Of The Beast
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Run To The Hills

This was probably the hottest show I've ever been to. It was July and the AC was not working in the Orpheum. No ventilation at all.

What makes this set so good is that it has songs from all over. Great variety plus it still has the classics.
